We visited La Rochelle with another cruise line a few years back - the berth is in La Pallice, the industrial port (former u-boat base) so it'll be shuttle buses.

Lovely historic town for casual walking, although I realise that won't suit your parents.

Not clued up on excursions - maybe the ports of call forum will have more ?

My mum and dad sailing on Black Watch from Edinburgh on October 4th. Looking for information on excursions and what is good to do if you are elderly with limited mobility in the ports of Rouen, La Rochelle and Lorient. Thanks.

If you look up "Cruise Ship Excursions" on a search engine you will find tour companies (don't wish to advertise a particular tour company here) who will be offering tours at prices considerably less than those offered on the ship. Where possible we always use these companies who can offer tours for smaller parties or even private tours.
