The Elizabeth House Hotel-Southampton

Is anyone familiar with The Elizabeth House in Southampton ?

Very well-respected local hotel, gets good reviews. I've not stayed there but I think of it as more like a large guest house than a hotel.

It's not the most conveniently-located hotel - a 20 minute walk to the city centre, or a ten minute walk in the opposite direction to the Cowherd's Inn on Southampton Common (parkland)

Depends how long you're staying, and whether you want to get out and about or just somewhere to lay your head, but especially without a car I'd prefer to be more central - perhaps one on this page, though most are comparatively bland modern chain hotels.

Elizabeth House is a 15 minute walk north of hotel number 10 on the map, Jury's Inn.
