msil Posted August 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2017 I am going on Viking Cruise with a stop in Vienna. They offer a "Vienna Highlights" tour for $199. It seems be a combination of the free included morning tour plus the Schonbrunn Palace $59 afternoon tour. Not sure why this is more expensive. This might be a more efficient tour with no return to the ship at lunchtime. Does anyone have more insight? Thank you
nancyevans Posted August 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2017 $199 is way way way too much! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
CPT Trips Posted August 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2017 I have not travelled Viking. That said, why go back to the ship for lunch? Spend spend some extra time walking the historic area of Vienna to see some of the things you missed on the tour. Then, mid-afternoon, head out to Schonbrunn on the UBahn; it's easy to get admission there on-line in advance. UBahn back to the ship at the end of your day in time for dinner.
