Steinwerder Cruise Port to Hamburg Centre

I am sailing on Independence of the Seas with 5 other people on 7th July 2017. We embark in Southampton.

We dock at Steinwerder Cruise Port, Hamburg, on 12th July 2017. We are in Port from 07:00 - 22:00. What is the easiest way to get from the Cruise Port to the centre of Hamburg? One of the people travelling with us cannot walk long distances.

i walked in the past to the terminal so i didn´t use the public transfer myself to the terminal.

I would ask RCCL if they offer a shuttle service to the city.

The terminal needs a better connection to the metro system. they want to do that but still isn´t, maybe in july?

ferry line 73, every 40 Minutes on your day. it is a ferry line more for the working people so check the timetable before, it is not a whole day service.

Landungsbrücken ist one of the tourist hot spot and with a good connection to the metro system.

We are also on this cruise and have started seriously looking at what we will do in Hamburg. There seem to be quite a few attractions, the Opera House and Miniature Wonderland very close in the City Center, but we are also wondering the best way to get there. It looks like there might be some buses (156/256?) that go for the Port to the City. Curious if you have found out anything more.

No we haven't found out anything. Hoping there will be a shuttle bus, or taxis, at the port.

I am curious, where did you find the information on the terminal the ship would be docking at? I am on this cruise too, and while searching the port of Hamburg website it only lists two different cruise terminals: Hafencity & Altona. Hoping for HafenCity, because it is only 1.7 KM away.
