Bergen - Rodne Fjord & Funicular -

Would like to do Rodne Fjord cruise in the morning at 10:00 for 3.5 hours. Would we have enough time to do the funicular after that? We have to be back on the ship at 4:30.

Also would doing the Rodne Fjord be the same as coming into Bergen with our HAL Zuiderdam ship?

The pier for the fjord cruises is a very short walk from the funicular station. You would likely have time to do both. You can always go to the station and see how long the ticket line and wait times are. Depends on how many ships are there that day, weather, etc. don't forget to allow time to wait for the return train if it's a busy day!

Thanks for your reply. Just checked and we are docking at Jekteviken (commercial) pier. Hope we can do both.

If it is a nice day, there could be a long wait to purchase funicular tickets and to get the funicular. On a cold, foggy day there won't be much of a line but you won't see much either. You can purchase tickets online to save one of the two lines that might be there on a nice day.

I am also doing the Roden Fjord tour. We are, I believe, docking at Dokkeskjærskaien. Does anyone know how far of a walk it is from our dock to where the Roden Fjord cruise departs? Or if it's too far, is there much availability of cabs or a bus line?

Flam-Amazing little town. We were able to get train tickets on our arrival that morning. The train ride was absolutely beautiful! After the train ride, we hiked up the hill past a farm and saw the waterfall. Not a difficult hike, very scenic.

Bergen-very walkable. There is a little train type of shuttle that takes people from port to the city center, near the fish market. From there it's a short walk to the funicular. This little 'train' was free and nobody believed him when he said "It's free!" We all hesitated but eventually got on for the free ride. Go to the funicular early because when we got back down the line was ridiculously long, all the way out to the street. Oh, ask for senior ticket price that they don't tell you about. I believe it was half off. Fish market was good to look at with very expensive seafood. After the funicular and the fish market we just walked around the old town area and then to the fort.
