Transportation ideas to and Mambo Beach?

First time we went we were dropped off at Mambo beach and picked up as part of a tour that we got on in the downtown area. The last two times we've just taken a cab to the beach, and there has always been a line of vans/cabs waiting to take people back into town. There apparently is bus service--you might find information about that by searching on CC or elsewhere online.

I just found out this answer for myself lol...

Taxis one way are $20 for up to 4 persons. Taxis are plentiful at Mambo, so no worries getting back to port

Just returned today, and the taxi prices are as follows...

On the way there, the taxi was totally full... So it was $5 per person. Our group of three paid $15.

On the way back, we rode alone... Our group paid $20.

Do you think there will be a problem renting loungers later in the afternoon? We won't arrive until 1 pm and would like to head over for a few hours of beach time.

It's a man made beach , so it's not one of my favorite in Curacao. It could get crowded if more than few ships in town. Really close to port ,so a lot of cab drivers take people there. Also it's very popular with families , because of calm water and location. Right next to dolphin encounter. I think newer part of the beach with all shopping has lockers that you can rent.

My best recollection is that it is a sand beach/sandy bottom but mixed with coral fragments and some shells. You might want water shoes but I don't think they are absolutely necessary.
