In your opinion, what is the best use of onboard credits, spa, excursions, gift shop, etc? We will have a lot of non refundable onboard credits for two future cruises we have booked and are interested in some creative ideas to use them best. Thanks, in advance, for all your advice!

When we had $1000 OBC, we used a bit on Internet and the rest on excursions, especially ones we would never have booked otherwise because they were so expensive. For example in Mumbai we booked the tour that included lunch at the Taj Mahal hotel, which was over €200 each. We had watched the TV series about the hotel, and really enjoyed spending time there.

It depends on what really interests you . We buy

A dining package for the Specialities if we are not in a suite. We aim for a minimum of 25% of our nights in either Prime C or Aqualina

Late disembarkation (if it is offered, depends on local immigration)

A malt some nights for DH - we don't buy a top up package, just pay as he drinks

Sometimes small gifts from the shop - we've had need of a few Azamara teddy bears lately

I have also used up remaining credit if all else fails buying a favourite perfume to add to the home stocks.

Many people buy land discovery trips, some are now buying the on deck sleeping experience Nights in Private Places. It really depends on what interests you

I agree and it's a very difficult question to answer and of course depends on how much you've got. If I've enough it's usually spent on a watch or sunglasses in Indulgences. If it's less then some items from the Shop. Polo shirt, ship mug. Last time I spent my OBC going to see the doc:rolleyes:

We have a little bit and at this time are planning to use for nice® wine at dinner, possibly a specialty dining night (not normally our thing - I don't really eat beef, so Prime C is out...:o) Do love tasting menus so that might be an option too. After seeing the pool towels in one of Host Andy's new photos, I think my husband wants a couple of those to bring home ;-) And we're out of OBC already ....

I once had $1500 OBC to spend. I bought a new camera, some jewellery, a handbag (of course!), went on a ship's excursion and spent the rest on nice wine and dining in the speciality restaurants.

I have absolutely no trouble in spending OBC at all! :D

Besides Land Discoveries excursions I'd sign up for plenty of Spa Services!

Re. Prime C restaurant, there are non-beef options as well. You should check it out.

I usually prefer to eat in a cruise ship's main dining room for dinner. I don't like the concept of specialty/ additional fee dining so barring a special reason to use one, we generally avoid. Beef aside ;-)

On our Asia cruise, my extra money will be spent on food tours in pretty much every port :-) I travel for my stomach....

We gobbled up a lot of OBC on internet charges, since we love to spend time on line. We treated ourselves to several bottles of special wines. On the last day we spent the balance in the shop on Christmas gifts for family. The non-refundable OBC from AZ cannot be used to buy casino chips.
