Anyone ever stayed at the Venice Resort Hotel (by airport)? We will be staying there pre-cruise for 2 nights (end of July).

If you know about the location of the hotel, please kindly advise what types of transportation are available going to the main area of Venice and to the cruise terminal. There will be 18 of us.

Thank you for any information.

The hotel web site provides the bus numbers for getting to/from the airport but not into Venice, just says that it's 15 minutes away. (Given that the airport express bus takes 20 minutes, hard to believe that the local bus would be quicker. )

Email them for the bus info, otherwise the desk staff will provide the information when you arrive. Or look on the ACTV web site. Just be mindful of the last bus of the day ....

We stayed in Favaro Veneto, the night before our cruise; a small town halfway between the airport and Venice. We had been to Venice before and were staying for 3 nites post cruise. so we just wanted an economical place to stay. The hotel was only 75E. The next morning we had b'fast, wandered around the village, got cash from an ATM , then at noon we took a bus to Venice (10 minutes). There was no place for luggage but only had 1 suitcase so it was fine. From the bus stop you walk a block to the People Mover (monorail) which takes you to the pier. ( or for sightseeing, walk a block to the Grand Canal and catch a water bus).

I enjoyed our hotel and especially the sweet little town, but I wouldn't stay there and commute to Venice if I was sightseeing.

Did you look at the reviews on tripadvisor ??

Most people were just staying for one night post/pre cruise but there was a comment from someone saying that it was only a 3 minute walk to catch the bus into Venice.

(and another comment that the hotel charged 10E pp for the airport shuttle; a cab was cheaper and not on a schedule)
