...and with RCI it is that any unoccupied lounge chair reserved with towels or other personal belongings for more than 30 minutes is subject to their removal by ship staff and then can be then used by other passengers. Unfortunately this is not always or uniformly enforced ship to ship.

If you are IN the pool, or restroom, you can certainly leave your towel on the lounger. If you are "saving" the lounger for later use, then NO...

Once you are USING your chair, it's pretty obvious...as are "chair hog" towels!

It is always inappropriate to save a sun lounger with anything unless you have just stepped away for a moment such as getting in the pool, running to the restroom or the bar, or inside to grab a quick snack.

If you are not near the pool and there are lots of empty ones near you no one will say anything even if you save one, but it is always a no no near the pool.
