Charging outlets

On the Kdam last year and the Noordam this year there were charging stations on the bedside table. Is that also the case on the Prinsendam?

Not in cabin 303 four years ago. It may have been updated since.

Those are called USB plugs, used for charging. Unlikely they will be on Prisendam, unless they were added at a recent drydock.

The bedside USB charging stations were part of the $300M suite upgrade process that Holland America announced last year. Prinsendam is not listed as one of the ships that will receive these suite upgrades.

First up to receive the new suite accommodations will be the Eurodam during its December 7-20, 2015 refit and the Oosterdam during its April 3-18, 2016 dry-dock followed by the Nieuw Amsterdam, Westerdam, Zuiderdam, and Noordam. The Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Volendam and Zaandam will also receive the new suites during their respective dry-docks scheduled across the next few years.

It isn't just suites that got the extra USB ports during drydocks, so not sure if that means anything.

I disembarked from the Prinsendam a month ago. There was no USB charging station in my Vista suite on the ship.

As a workaround I have a 4-port USB device with a european-style plug which allows me to use the European style outlet for all my USB charging without taking up the US Outlets which are now free for other uses.

Been in the cabanas on Noordam, Eurodam, N. Amsterdam and Koningsdam. None have USB power outlets. IIRC, only KDAM has (standard) power outlets in the cabanas.

Thanks everyone. Guess i will go get one of those multiple USB ports and bring my Euro plug. It was just so convienent to charge and read at the same time in bed. BTW these were both veranda rooms, not suites.
