Cruising in september?!

got a week off out of no where and was thinking about going on a cruise september 10 or so is it a bad idea with this weather and storms going on will it be a waste of money?

We go every September and have had excellent cruises. Good prices in September.

A report from the Freedom said they went Western instead of planned Eastern, but had a wonderful time and perfect weather.

As long as you're flexible, go for it.

Our friends just returned today from a b2b on the freedom they had a great time and nothing but sunshine. The seas were a little rough but nothing crazy. We always cruise in September going on the freedom on the 27th.

I love cruising in September. Good prices, not a ton of kids and it fits perfectly for both of our work schedules.

Ladydi's Birthday is in September and we have traditionally sailed then to celebrate.....Always have had a great time and trust RCI and their Captains to provide us with a fun and safe cruise.

September doesn't mean there WILL be a storm!!! Just means the conditions COULD be right for one to form. If there is no storm, nothing is different from any other time!

OK sounds good so far but what about that storm erika and the new storm called fred that's happening ?

Many people cruise the Caribbean during September but there is still the risk of Hurricanes.

Please do not take this the wrong way, but storms/hurricanes do happen. When was the last time you heard of a cruise ship being "ravaged" by a raging hurricane. Cruise ships get away from any storms by re-routing and/ or changing/ missing some ports of call. I hope you do book that cruise and have a wonderful time! :)

I have cruised many times in September, and this year is no exception ... going on the Paradise out of Tampa on 9/10. Sept is a great time because if you book early you can get GREAT deals and since kids are back in school there are less of them running around. Yes weather can affect you but usually it's just a change in itinerary as opposed to cancelling the whole cruise. GO FOR IT!
