NCL Getaway Internet and Cell Phone (AT&T)

we are going on the NCL Getaway in November for 7 days ....we will need to have cell phone service and Internet for our business, Any suggestions on what we need to purchase from cell phone carrier before we depart. We have AT&T as our carrier ? Any help appreciated :) :)

In reality, you cannot rely on having cell phone service at sea. The internet, yes, mostly, you can get on, but cell phone service - maybe, maybe not. It all depends and even with the internet, be prepared to figure out workaround solutions if you are sending a big file. Often the best way is to go to the Internet cafe onboard and use a hardwired PC rather than your laptop.

Call AT&T and tell them what you want to do and they will explain the options to you. It is SUPER expensive. Typically the package is $30 to $120 per month and you get 50 minutes of talk and then $1 a minute thereafter. Texting is a lot cheaper. Internet is cheapest.

AT&T doesn't actually have an alliance with Norwegian but Verizon does, so you may want to pick up a different cellphone from Verizon and forward calls from your regular cellphone to the Verizon cellphone in order to save money but check with Verizon on their pricing first.

Thank you... may get a Verizon phone....we will use internet and email mostly, phone only in emergency ...Thanks when you call NCL or the phone companies no one seems to know ? I'm more worried about first 2 days Great stirrup and day at sea...

We just got off the Getaway and I will warn you the Internet was AWFUL. We had unlimited wifi and shared among our devices and there were times none of us could access it from our cabin (particularly on sea days). Be forewarned!

not what I wanna hear:( we will only have one device we need to connect....did you do eastern or western Caribbean
