Hotels in Vancouver

Questions-What hotels are good in Vancouver?? ( May 2107) We will be arriving a day ahead of cruise, and notice the hotel prices vary quite a bit. Also, is it possible to walk to cruise terminal from any hotel by Canada Place, or is it too far? Do any of the hotels offer a shuttle from the airport? We don't need the best , just looking for a place to rest w/ o any frills. ( looking at under $200 if possible) Also, any fast food places nearby for coffee?? Thanks!!

Downtown hotels don't offer shuttles to/from the airport . A taxi is only $35 to $40 CDN to downtown. There are three hotels right beside the pier .

Pan Pacific is actually built on the pier. Quick elevator ride to the Canada Place . There are at least two across the street from Canada Place .

They all have an option where they transfer your luggage directly to the ship. The bell crew collects your bag outside the room when ready. The next time you see them is in your cabin on-board.

Kamloops50,

Thanks for this information. I booked the Pan Pacific after seeing your information. Made it very easy to decide. Thanks.

Agree to go look at the Canada ports of call forum and the West Coast Departures forum.

Finding a cheap, "clean", "no frills" hotel near Canada Place, well:

find a hotels dot com search engine. Enter Vancouver, set the price point to under $200 (or the highest you are willing to go), add "Canada Place cruise terminal" as a Landmark and see what pops up. That will give some starting points. See if any of those have positive posting from CCers.

As for fast food places for coffee - there is this wonderful Canadian treasure called Tim Hortons. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Tim Hortons. There seems to be one every few blocks in Vancouver. Without denigrating TMs, kind of like the Dunkin' Donuts of Canada...

We recently stayed at Rosedale on Robson. Was $199CN plus tax per night. Reserved a one bedroom suite got upgraded to 2 bedroom. Not 5 star but a nice 3+ for sure. Would stay again. Breakfast and wifi included.

Between cruises in May I spent two nights at the Metropolitan Hotel. It is less than a ten minute walk to Canada Place and has a shopping mall across the street and a number of restaurants/coffee shops close by. It was $375 (US) for the two nights.

Hmm... from another post, I think you are looking for a hotel on May 9, 2017. Here are the choices on Booking.com for under $200 USD.

  • $122 Days Inn is 4 blocks from the cruise terminal. Check reviews for potential concerns
  • $136 Delta Vancouver Suites.... 6 blocks from the cruise terminal with biggie rooms. It's what I would be going for a budget traveler.
  • $151 Century Plaza
  • $161 Residence Inn Marriott
  • $178 Hotel Blu
  • $181 Rosedale
  • $209 Sutton Place
  • $210 Holiday Inn
  • $227 Auberge is 2 blocks from the cruise terminal
  • $234 Sheraton Wall Centre
