*LIVE* from Brilliance Sept 3 Transatlantic

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I'm going to be doing some daily vlogging on the upcoming Northern Atlantic crossing onboard Brilliance of the Seas, departing September 3rd, 2015.

We will leaving from Harwich, UK and visiting:

Le Havre (Paris), France

Dorset, UK

Cork, Ireland

Klaksvik, Faroe Islands

Reykjavik, Iceland

Halifax, NS, Canada

Do you have any burning questions about the Brilliance or the ports we will be visiting? I'll do my best to answer them or capture them in video.

Check out my youtube channel: "Janna Leigh" for our previous Scandinavian & Russia cruise (July 2014) and to follow along on this sailing. I will do my best to upload videos and check the forum whenever in port and during sea days. Hopefully I can find some decent internet! :)

Happy cruising!

I'll be following along.

Is it Rita's Crab shack or Rita's Cantina?

Also - what are you plans in Halifax?

Looking forward to being on Brilliance in October.

It's Rita's Cantina. And we will be getting off the ship in Halifax, since we are from Nova Scotia. It was just easier than flying back from Boston - which is where the cruise ends. If you're interested, I can give suggestions on what to do in Halifax. :)

Also, can you let us know if Brilliance is offering a wine package at all. It seems to be different ship by ship.

I think we have our day planned, basically a taxi to Fairview and Citadel then walk our way back to the ship. Not to get too off topic, but any lunch recommendations? We should be in the City Hall/Maritime museum area.

Have a wonderful cruise. We took this TA last fall. It is one of our favorite cruises. I look forward to following along and reliving our cruise. :)

I did a couple of mini reviews of a couple of ports. Someone might find them useful.

In Halifax, a nice little pub is Your Father's Moustache, it's about 15 min walk from the Maritime museum on Spring Garden Rd. If you have mobility issues, that might not be the best to walk, since Spring Garden has a bit of an incline. But there are some nice fish & chip places on the wharf too, which is a bit closer.

Based on the information in the Captain's thread, Captain Ole started his rotation on or about 7/7. If they follow the typical 10 week rotation, I would expect that Captain Stig should be assuming command sometime around the middle of September so you may see him on your Canada/New England cruise. No guarantees though as sometimes the Captains can arrange for longer or shorter rotations.

I hope that you have a wonderful trip, and I can't wait to follow along!

If you have a chance to notice, can you let me know if Rita's Cantina does a fiesta party on the Brilliance? Our roll call would be interested in getting together for this, since some have done it on the Allure, and loved it.

Thank you!
