Best place to buy pearls?

Any recommendations on the best island in FP and/or shop other than Tahiti itself because we won't be there long enough.

I bought a lovely pearl on Bora Bora, I can't remember the name of the shop but from the tender spot, walk towards the strip of shops and it was to the far left, I think it was the last shop.

My wife bought a pearl necklace and earrings at eimeofinejewelry on Moorea, right near the Juice Factory in Cooks bay. This place was recommend to us by Tikiintahiti. The owner makes most of the jewelry and can make modifications if you want something customized. Prices are reasonable. We like the place and would return given the opportunity.

I presume you are looking for decent quality pearls as you will find inexpensive black pearls at every shop and stand in the islands. Robert Wan has a few locations on multiple islands and has excellent quality and selection. Eva Perles, on Moorea, also is a good option (you can look at her web site).

Wow another person has been to Eimeo!

Have been there twice, great designs and very reasonable prices. Owner is from California. Very nice woman. My wife picked up an amazing DIFFERENT piece there this past fall. This is not cookie cutter stuff. I also agree with Flightmedic about Robert Wan and with the dollar at a 12 year high against the Franc it's a great time to go.
