But there are other mariner issues. A storm that severe can totally change to the topography of the shallow waters where cruise ships anchor. So we would assume the cruise lines will want to wait until the authorities re-survey the local seas and update the charts. And then there is the issue of a tender dock. Although we cannot know the current situation, it would be a miracle if the pier (used for tenders) survived the storm.

All though issues too. Horrible situation all around.

Royal Caribbean have advised that both the March 20th and March 29th sailings will not be going to Mystery Island. Our sailing, March 20th, will go to Mare instead, and the March 29th sailing will go to the Isle of Pines.

Our April 6 th cruise is now going to mare instead of mystery island as the wharf is damaged.

We return to vila this week though,

Mystery Island is a port on the cruise I'm doing in September on Holland. Do you think they will skip this port and replace it with a different one?

The wharf at Mystery Island has been damaged before and the locals were quite quick to have it repaired. I would think it would be fixed by the time your cruise arrives in September. Mystery Island is one of my favourites for snorkelling.

When I was there 2 years ago they were slammed by an earthquake an hour after we left.

We were? Strangely I have no recollection of that at all and I was definitely living here at that time.
