Weather on a transatlantic cruise in April

I am thinking of taking a transatlantic cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Lisbon on April 26,2009. Does anyone know what type of weather I can expect during the sea days? Will it be a warm weather type cruise? Thanks to all who respond.

I live in New York. Just curious to know if it will be warm enough for swimming and sun bathing.....

We are going on April 3rd, same route, I think. Someone on our rollcall who has done this several times says to expect temps in the 70's which surprised me...but he also said it is hard to predict as a rain storm following you the whole trip could change things.....for the worse:(.

I did a transatlantic in April and had what we consider to be beautiful weather. There was maybe one day that we put on a light jacket. When we arrived in ports I generally wore capri pants and a short sleeve shirt. I took a light jacket, but only used it some of the time.

I suppose this is perception and all relative. I saw some people wearing jackets all the time.

I found my old Cruise Compasses:

Day 1: 79F

Day 2: 82F

Day 3: 82F

Day 4: 81F

Day 5: 80F

Day 6: 69F

Day 7: 66F

Day 8: 64F

Day 9: 74F

Day 10: 62F

Day 11: 68F

Day 12: 71F

Day 13: 71F

Hope this helps!

We did the reverse a few years ago. See below from our blog for weather conditions we recorded at the time. Of course, it is weather, so who knows what you might get. Debbie
