Ah, a castle theme...

After cruising up the motorways over the week-end, we visited Brodie castle in Scotland

Which we were informed has a substantial collection of Daffodils, unfortunately they were on the wane.. but managed to get these flowers

Catholic Benedictine monks are living in this only British medieval monastery, which is still being used for its original purpose.

Along the waterfront In Willemstad, Curacao is a semi-permanent marketplace dubbed the Floating Market. The stalls are actually on the edge of the main canal but are supplied by boats that bring produce and fish from coastal towns in Venezuela which are only 40-50 miles south of the island. The stalls are run by generations of merchants and fishermen who live on their boats for months at a time as they supply the city's residents with fresh fruit, vegetables, honey and other items that are not available locally due to the island's limited agriculture. Incredibly busy, loud and colorful. Except for the fish, which were basking in the 85° heat, it was a pleasant experience.

Finally got around to downloading photos from my card from the last two weekends...so finally have a few shots to add to this thread!

A great egret in strong backlight walking past some reeds, with reflections in the water (gave me the feeling of Japanese screen art):

A least bittern stalking through the reeds in the shallows:

Continuing the theme I had in the last weekly thread - a shot of something eating something. In this case, a great blue heron eating a snake:

Closeup with a baby tricolor heron:
