If you check the lists, the Quebec trips are listed as the Magic. Prices in they past have not been available until the bookings open; initially they are by postings on the boards prior to appearing on the DCL or other web sites.

We are looking at the September transatlantic cruise that leaves from Dover and arrives in NY. Cruising into NY would be fantastic. We are doing the June 28 cruise on the Fantasy so when I asked our travel agent, she suggested we wait for the onboard booking discount.

Just be aware the onboard booking discount will be taken on the prevailing cruise cost.

It's a good idea to go ahead and book as soon as you can. Then reshop the cruise onboard. If the prices haven't risen enough to negate the savings, you can cancel the original reservation and book onboard.

That way you'll be paying the lowest price you can.

Shmoo nailed it. If you book as soon as you are able, you'll get the lowest price available. Between then and your cruise date, the price may or may not increase. There is no way to predict that. But the best thing for you to do is to book at the opening day rate and then "reshop" while on board. If it costs less to book on board taking into account the onboard credit you'll receive, do that and cancel the original reservation. If the cost has increased significantly, you still got the lowest possible rate.

We are Silver CC members; are we better off calling DCL Wed am or booking directly online? Or try both? Ready to settle for other options but so excited for either Quebec City itinerary!

Your choice--both is likely best. On line, it can become so crowded that the site crashes. On the phone, it can be "permanent hold." Or either/both can go thru smoothly.

My approach is to deal with a DCL specialist TA who gets it for me. They understand the need to be on the phones quickly and I've never been disappointed.

Looking at the 11/19/18 4 nighter from Port Canaveral w/ 2 Castaway Cay stops. (Thanksgiving cruise) Any info on which ship this will be? The disney website list isn't specific about which ships do which new itinerary. And, if there's insider info on prices out there, that would be great. I'd hate to waste my time Wednesday calling in if it's out of my price range anyway. If it's the 2 older ships, I've got a shot pricewise, if it's the 2 newer ones, the prices will probably be too high for me.

Since that's a 4 night out of PC, and it departs on a Monday, I'm going hazard a guess that it's the Dream. That's the type cruise she's done in the past.

Good grief....you don't want to now what we paid just a few years ago.

We looked at the pricing and transfers; we just couldn't bite for the Canada cruise! Happy to spend 3K less (before transfers!) for an EC 7d trip on the Fantasy. We were on hold for an hour this am before booking. Thanks for all the help/advice! 2 cruises away from Gold status in CC. Maybe a cruise on the classic ship in 2019...

It sure was. I really LOVE Disney cruises, but I just can't justify spending $4250 for 3 people in the smallest inside cabin on a 4 night cruise. Yes, I know it's a Thanksgiving cruise and yes, I know it's the Dream, but that's just too much. The DCL difference isn't enough of a difference when I can spend 1/4 of that on a 5 night Celebrity cruise. If you can afford it, more power to ya, but I think all things Disney are just getting too pricey. $100/day to go to a theme park, $120/night just to park your camper at Fort Wilderness, and now this. What happened to the days when Disney travel was meant to be at least kind of affordable for everyone?
