Mare and Lifou status after TC Donna...

Thought I'd ask my awesome peeps here if they have heard or seen anything about Mare and Lifou after Donna lashed the area... I'm leaving on the Spirit on Thursday and haven't heard or seen anything about the status of the islands or if ships are tendering there at the moment.

Just for the record I'm one of those who doesn't care if ports get changed last minute... it adds to the thrill of the adventure! [emoji5] plus momma always said any day at sea is better than any day at work... [emoji38]

We were at Mare on Sunday all is good, Lifou had some damage to the tender wharf but should be operational now.

Lagoon380, how did you find the air and water temps at this time of year ?

I found the water ok not cold but not too warm either, lots of people swimming.

Air temps were great 25 - 27 degrees during the day shorts & t-shirt weather.

First day a bit on the cool side and also the last day but all the rest were great.

Thanks "average" temps do not tell the whole story.

I am glad damage was minimal.

The jetty on Lifou was operational a few days ago. People were swimming, but the water would have been a bit cool for me. :)

yes, but probably very warm for anyone from Victoria LOL
