We may be arriving by shuttle to the Galveston port early prior to our cruise. Are there any places to eat breakfast/brunch within walking distance to the shuttle drop off at the port?

Yes there are several within walking distance.

Next to the pier is fishermans wharf, nono Tony's and Olympus grill.

Directly across the street is Starbucks and jimmy johns.

On the strand. 1 block from pier. Fuddruckets, brew brothers, la rumba, Mediterranean chef, tsunami, yagas, stuttgarden, and shrimp and stuff.

My favorites are yagas and fishermans wharf.

Straight south on 23rd St. the from the Port.On the left, about 6 blocks, will be Star Drug Store. That is going to be the closest location for an actual breakfast.

Star is very good. I eat there.

But Tremont Hotel is closest and good also for actual breakfast .

Yes you're right. As a local in Galveston. I don't think about having breakfast at the Tremont.

But they do make good martinis at the bar Toujouse.

I only posted restaurants that are open on Sunday. Otherwise I would have put Rudy and Paco.

I purposely didn't put Saltwater Grill on there. The last couple times I've been there.I haven't been too impressed. It seems like some of the service was better in the past. Plus it gets extremely loud and crowded. And it's hot in the summer time. I just didn't want to send a first-timer from out of town to a place like that.

Saltwater Grill on Post Office and 21st.

Most fine dining restaurants are closed on Sunday.

Check galveston.com for dining, hours and menu.

gmce11 mentioned Shrimp N Stuff. That place is GREAT. We almost went elsewhere when we drove up, but decided to go in and check it out. With 4 kids in our family, we have a hard time finding a place that they all agree on. This the only restaurant we have EVER been to where all of us ate everything served. Heck, I thought we'd get kicked out when my youngest started licking the plate.

Looking forward to eating there in a few weeks before we head out.
