Juneau Webcam New Dock Activity

I see by this site plan that the North Dock is approached from the Library/parking garage and the South Dock from behind the Tram Building.

They are showing the dock work again! I see a crane out there. I hope it is completed by this season.

Thanks for the photo, Kathy. I looked this morning but it was 4AM and dark and although I could see the camera was facing the dock, I could not make put what it looked like.

Wow! There certainly is! Should be done on time for the cruise season, I hope.

It is another beautiful day in Juneau (winter seems to have more sunny days than summer) and the temperature is actually a degree above freezing. It is hard to believe that it is less than three months until the Alaska cruise season begins.

My Roll Call has finally picked up recently. Unfortunately, circumstances may require a switch to another date.

Putting the floating pontoons in place - it's getting somewhere

It's going to be great not having to switch gangway decks every hour and a half :)

It was a beautiful weekend in Juneau and the temperature was even above freezing! The work on the new dock is coming along and it is only ten weeks until the start of the season.

The crane is still there but is now more between the two docks. I think it finishing up those tie up posts for the newest dock. You can see this more clearly on krooozcam.

It was cool. A huge tugboat came in this morning about 7:30 am AZ time. I wonder if he has any connection to the dock construction?

Now it's headed for the crane barge. I see they are painted in the same red and white colors.

I think they are done! The large crane has entirely retracted it's boom. Such a beautiful day there today too!
