Good morning from the Pacific Princess. We are docked in Santa Marta Columbia and it is 0825 local time. Holli & I just finished up a nice breakfast in our suite. We decided to do this rather than Sabatini's today so we wouldn't be rushed getting ready for our excursion at 0925.

As mentioned earlier, we are headed to a beach resort/folkloric show today. I will report on our adventures later this afternoon when we get onboard.

Hope all are well.....:):):)

Good evening all from the Pacific Princess. We are in the process of pushing away from the docks in Santa Marta Columbia. Today Holli & I went on a ship sponsored excursion to a beach resort and a folkloric dance show wherein lunch was also included. I must say that this was my least favorite excursion.

While it wasn't bad, I don't think I would ever book it again. For those who may consider this excursion on a future voyage, There are basically three things to do besides watching the folkloric show; which by the way was very good. You can sit on the beach, swim in the ocean, or swim in the pool. So if you plan to swim, you need to bring a pair of trunks/swimsuit or ride back to the ship. There is one very small "gift shop" in the hotel that does not really have anything very tangible as far as souvenirs go. One more thing, the establishment does not take U.S. Dollars. As stated previously, the folkloric dance show was very good. The provided lunch was also very good.

Please don't take the above as a bashing of the excursion. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

I'll check in later tonight.

Hope all are well.....:):):)

Good morning from the Pacific Princess. Sorry I didn't check in last night after dinner but I fell right to sleep when I got back to the cabin. We are at sea for today as we head to our last port stop:( of Aruba. I just got back from the gym where I got in a decent cardio workout. I always spend the last week or so of a cruise getting back into a regular workout routine so I can get right into loosing some of this cruise weight I gained. For me this is very important as summer is coming up and being a little overweight when it is hot out is a bear due to the equipment I have to wear when at work.

The seas are a little rough at the moment. It doesn't affect me at all, but I've heard several passengers say that they or their significant others were having a bit of a hard time dealing with the somewhat rough seas.

Tonight Holli & I are doing the UBD on our balcony so I hope the seas calm down somewhat before then. I really like doing the UBD as it is a very enjoyable dining experience.

That's all for now and I hope all are well.....:):):)

Joining you late Bob. Looks like you are having a great time as always. Enjoy the rest of the cruise. We will be seeing the canal in November.

Hello David. Nice to see you checking in. Hope all is well with you and Lenora.....:):):)

Bob, Hope you had a chance to enjoy Dan and Elliot with the little Cruisetones duo band - either by the pool or at the casino bar. That Elliot can really tickle the ivories on that electronic keyboard. Enjoyed these two on the recent World Cruise as a nice diversion from a more typical R&R band. Shirley and Keith with the Touch of Class band also were excellent, but they may have gotten off after the world cruise? Sounds like you have enjoyed the shows in the main Cabaret Lounge. Thanks so much for your blog - reading it has been an immense pleasure, as has looking at your photos of sunsets and wakes. All the best, Joe

Good morning from the Pacific Princess. We just docked in Oranjestad Aruba. We are doing a snorkeling excursion in about an hour. It won't be a long day as we have to be back onboard by 1530 for a 1600 sail away.

Hope all are well.....:):):)

Hello Joe. Thanks for the kind words. Both the Cruisetone and a Touch of Class are still on the ship. I've enjoyed listening to both on a number of occasions.....:):):)

Thanks again for your continued posts Bob.

Any definitive answer to exactly where Club Class Dining will be.

Seems to be various opinions floating around.

Thanks.

Not really. I might put more stock in what I heard from the staff in the Club Restaurant rather than what I initially heard in Sabatini's.....:):):)

Formal Nights

Hi Folks,

I believe Princess still hold formal nights. Is it is still done on their small ship?

Note: This question is not a rabbit hole wrt what 'appropriate attire' is- just a question as stated [emoji6]

Cheers,

Bob

Bob:

If you get a chance, can you ask your waiter if they have the following wines on the current wine list:

Wild Horse Pinot noir

Oberon Merlot

Simi Landslide

No rush you can answer when you get home.

Thank you

Pete

Yes, formal nights are held on the small ship in the same manner as all their other ships.

Good afternoon from the Pacific Princess. We are just sailing away from Aruba. Next stop Ft. Lauderdale and the end of this wonderful cruise. Today Holli & I Did a sailing and snorkeling excursion on a schooner. We had a blast. I haven't been snorkeling since the last time we were in Aruba 15 years ago. I rarely post pictures of myself on CC, but what the heck, it was a blast.

Hope all are well.....:):):)

I can tell you they had all 3 on our Coral Princess Panama Canal cruise in April. We ordered the Wild Horse (which was featured during the Maitre'd's wine tasting) and Simi multiple times. :D
