Greek island shore excursions

We visited all 3 last year on Riviera.

Santorini can be very busy. You want to get up to the high area, Fira, early so it's donkey or cable car if you don't book a tour. Both can have queues especially if lots of cruise ships. Think we were one of four ships and mostly a good bit bigger than Riviera. Agree that views are breathtaking! But if on your own, leave plenty time for getting back in time. We met a couple who took donkey up but it decided it wouldn't go any further so they had to walk part of way. Personally not keen on using donkeys anyway. Try to get bus or taxi over to Oia, a village a few miles (?) away.

We loved Corfu and would go back! We just wandered around after getting the shuttle bus in. Discovered the music museum with helpful guide sharing the rich musical heritage of the island.

Katakolon is a very small town and is gateway to Olympia so you can book a tour or you will find lots of transport eager to get your business when you arrive. It has a few interesting shops/restaurants near to where ship docks run by locals who are keen to chat and get your business! But in a nice way. Bought some great leather handbags at bargain prices. Unless we missed it, there was not much more!

Enjoy!

In Santorini get the boat from the dockside to Oia and then the coach back to Fira (included in the boat fare) for a look round the shops before the lift back down to the dock, unless you are very active and you can walk down!

On Santorini if you are interested in Atlantis or archaeology, consider a visit to Akrotiri. We had a guide take us there, but looks easy to do by bus as well https://ktel-santorini.gr/ktel/images/pdfs/ktel.pdf

Oia is beautiful and very picturesque, but also very touristy.....with lots of people.
