Kinda new to princess cruise ships. Have questions.

We could always get water, ice tea, lemonade, and some different kinds of juices. Of course, coffee and hot tea as well and I think the packets of hot chocolate are available although we never tried that.

One thing I really like on many of the Princess ships... they will bring drinks to you as you are sitting in the buffet. So many times we find a table while carrying our trays and one of the servers will come up and ask what we want to drink then go get it for us. Then, they often come around and offer refills.

If you like specialty coffees Princess has a really nice coffee card (I think it's around $33) where you can just use a punch for each coffee. This significantly reduces the cost ($33/15). The card also gives you access to unlimited, much better, brewed coffees from the International Cafe coffee shop.

I don't know if the pizza is 24 hours, but it was always serving while we were awake :)

I have been on alot of carnival cruises. You get free water, ice tea coffee, and hot chocolate. Do they offer those? Also, 24 hour pizza?

No hot chocolate in the HC (buffet):(, but you can get unlimited and very good hot chocolate at the International Cafe with your coffee card, also specialty teas and (on the ships that have it) gelato.

We haven't done Alaska, yet but it has been reported here that it MAY be served on the pool decks while cruising the glaciers.

Not sure, but I think the pizza stops in the late evening (11PM?). You can also get pizza from room service for a $3 service charge.

Yes, same drinks (essentially) are included on your fare. There is no 24 hour pizza (except room service, which has a $3 per pizza charge). There is pizza available on pool deck from 10am-10pm (hours may vary). This is by the slice, thin crust, voted best pizza at sea. Several always available, along with a specialist pizza of the day. On some ships, there is also Alfredo's which is a sit down, no fee, pizza to order restaurant (along with a few orher Italian favorites). Some great more alternative/gourmet type pizzas.

Coffee cards are great if you enjoy specialty coffees and made to order hot chocolate with milk or cream, etc rather than the packets and hot water. Princess also offers an all-inclusive beverage package which is much more comprehensive than Carnival's and doesn't have the dame drinks per day limits, etc. Worth checking out if you enjoy cocktails, wine or beer, bottled water, soda, mocktails and specialty coffees and hot chocolate...

Enjoy your sailing...

The pizzas they serve are the small personal size. So you'll need to order more than one and/or something to go with it, soup or a salad, etc. I have always liked the pizzas I'd gotten there.

Hot chocolate was available in the HC. Self serve or served. This was on the Regal
The hot chocolate dispensers in the HC are only on the Royal and the Regal. There was complementary hot chocolate on our Alaskan cruise in 2012. In earlier years there were hot chocolate packets in the HC but those disappeared at least 3-4 years ago.

On Grand Princess - yes, and juices in the morning. Don't remember, though, if they offered hot chocolate dry mix packages. We liked to get ice-cream and put it in the coffee - mocha! yum!

Pizza was from 11 am, not 24 hrs. Didn't like Alfredo's pizza, but the one on the 14th across from buffet was much, much better.

They came around with hot chocolate on the pool decks when we were in Glacier Bay. Very nice!

Free Water: by the glass only. Bottled water has a charge

Ice Tea: available all day and evening in the buffet.

Ice Coffee: Believe you have to go to the International Cafe and there is a charge. Probably available in the MDR's. Hot coffee is available all day in the buffet and in all DR's

Lemonade: Available morning, noon and night in the buffet and DR's

Hot Chocolate: There is a charge at the International Cafe, except on the Royal & Regal Princess where it is free in the buffet area

All ships, except the small R ships, have free pizza by the slice at the Lido Pool 11am to 11pm. The Royal, Regal, Grand, Sapphire have Alfredo's, waiter served personal sized pizza, no charge, 11am to 11pm.

Room service pizza will cost you a $3 service charge.

The International Cafe is open 24/7 and has a really nice selection, but no pizza.

Juices, available in the AM. There is a charge for juices at the bars.

The International l café is open very late.

Check out this thread for pictures of the food they have there. The food is included in your cruise fare. There are pictures on the first page and I like the pictures on post #22 &23.

Small? They're not 12" (I think they're 9") but more than enough for one person or even enough to split with someone else. :) They are my one indulgence and I have a hard time finishing one.

Pam, thanks for posting the photo. One Alfredo's pizza is certainly enough for me.
The $3 for room service pizza is, unless something has changed recently, per delivery not per Pizza, so you can order 3 Pizzas still $3
It was only $3 for the delivery of two pizzas on the Emerald.

How do you get the coffee card.

LOL !!! As soon as you are aboard, every time you turn around there will be someone standing there trying to sell you a coffee card:rolleyes:

Pam,

Why was your pizza post the first post I had to see this AM?:) Now I want it for breakfast!! It looks so yummy.

Because I'm evil. :) Every time I see my photo, my mouth starts watering and I want one NOW! :) It really is yummy and thicker than it appears in the photo.
