NYC’s Liberty of the Seas 9 Day Picture Review

Recommended Posts

Hello Cruise Critic - It’s Ken and Paulette again. We are Diamond Plus Cruise Addicts from NYC. After sailing on Liberty of the Seas, 6 other times, we have always considered her our favorite ship. When we heard Liberty was coming to the NY area to replace Quantum, we jumped at the chance to spend 9 days on our favorite ship, out of our favorite city… or at least Bayonne. No NJ Flamers please, Liberty is New York's just like the GIANTS.

7/16/2015 Itinerary

We woke up at 1am, and quickly checked marine traffic to make sure our ride was on the way…

We hopped on the Grand Central Parkway and laughed as we drove past LaGuardia Airport. This is only our 2nd cruise, out of 40 something, without a plane ride. A quick 45 min ride to Cape Liberty - Thanks for the ride Mom.

Quickly, unloaded the car, including a case of water, with 3 attached luggage tags. Gave the stevedore a $10 tip and hoped our Dasani would make it since we hate Evian. The security line at 12:30pm was long, but moved quickly...

Once inside, at the far left, there was an empty Suites/Pinnacle security line followed by the Suites/Pinnacle check in line. No DP+ security line.

No we don't have a cold

No we don't have a fever

No we haven't been to West Africa

No we don't have ebola...

Hi Ken,

We sailed with you on the Quantum last November. Really looking forward to see your pictures of the Liberty we're almost 24 days away from our cruise to Bermuda.

Jonathan

We needed you on this one - No cabin crawl!!!!!

Did you have to wrap the case of water with any kind of tape? And did it make it to your room? We're leaving thursday and are thinking of bringing a case of water but, not sure if we should check it in our bags (loose) or if we should check it in as a case? Would appreciate a response asap since we only have a day left to decide. [emoji4]

The agent was pleasant, but slow. We missed the Suite Access door last November on Quantum, but happily used it this time.

Quickly down the long hall to the sea pass picture station

Up the escalator to the Brilliance of the Seas background, welcome aboard picture station (Hey RCCL - get a new background) and on to the ship. Total time from door to ding - 22 minutes. Not Quantum times, but not bad after all.

We had Grand Suite 1256 on the starboard side near the front. Port view of the other Lady Liberty

Found the review, Ken! Great start. Love the pics.

Hopefully our cruise paths will cross again and we'll have another grand cabin crawl like the one on Quantum.

Jonathan

Hi, Jonathan. I sailed with you and Ken on the Quantum as well and really enjoyed the cabin crawl. I'm sailing on the Liberty to Bermuda as well. Too bad I'll miss you. As you said, hopefully we'll cross paths again, and with Ken! :)
