Has anyone gone on the Carnival Miracle? We thinking of taking the April 29, 2018 Western Caribbean 7 night cruise out of Tampa. Nice ship? It's very reasonably priced

Older ship. Old decor. No guys. Not to say you won't have fun.

For what it's worth, we just got off the Miracle a few days ago. My 10th Carnival, first on the Miracle. While it was a clean and nice ship, there simply was none of the new amenities that the other Carnival ships now have. On the small size with little to do in the evenings or on sea days if the weather is cold (like it was). The food was so-so to average but the staff were always nice, but overworked. We chose Carnival this time for a family trip, but we won't be back -- not to say that you won't have fun.

We are booked on the Miracle for it's repositioning cruise Jan 13,2018. We have searched this site for Miracle reviews and generally the reviews were excellent. I don't care about Guys because in my opinion the burgers are not that good. The ship does have a burger, hot dogs, and steak sandwiches aft, which I thought say a better burger than Guys. We are very excited for our first full transcanal cruise. It also has almost 1/2 the guests as the Magic we just sailed

I was on the Miracle this past October. The best part about this ship is the number of balconies! I had an extended balcony and it was worth the extra fee (I use my balcony a lot). The ship is older, but a nice size. Plenty of seating in the lounge, showroom, buffet, and pool loungers. One thing that I didn't like was that you can't drink on the dance floor in the club. I didn't know that it was moving to the other coast!

Didnt realize it had steak sandwiches at the grill. That will be good

Maybe I'll see you there!

Spirit class ships are my favorite, by the way. This will be my second time on Miracle.;)

We love the Spirit class. We will sail on the Miracle in January for our 3rd time. Small enough to not be a hassle to get around, great passenger to space ratio, entertaining decor :D , a newish water park, and the crew has always been super.

We LOVE Miracle. It was our first carnival ship 10+ years ago. SO happy came back to east coast. We r sailing out of Tampa may 2018 for our 3rd time on miracle!

Does have upgrades, including Alchemy [emoji106]

I agree Spirit class is best!

I also love the Spirit class ships. I've been on the Miracle a few years ago and have two more booked on her. One is a 15 day Hawaii in October and the 7 day out of Tampa next year. My favorite cabins are the vista suites on Spirit class ships.

Just off the Miracle last Saturday. Loved it and thought the layout of the ship was super easy to get around. Very clean and staff were the best throughout the ship. Always Happy and Smiling and Working hard

Had fun at the Red Frog Pub and Sports bar.....Casino was big and plenty of room...Slots were tight.....drink service in the casino was Excellent

We had a ocean suite and it was perfect. Plenty of Space, Room steward was Excellent and the cabin stayed nice and cold

Went to the Steak House towards the end of the cruise. It was comped by the casino but we would of gone regardless ......Absolutely EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE....we normally get the filet mignon and lobster but switched up slightly and I ordered the Rib Eye and my wife ordered the 10oz lobster tail....once served we split it so had our own version of surf and turf....Excellent choice.....also the lobster bisque soup made with vintage cognac was soooo good as well

Food at the buffet was good to really good depending what you had....had breakfast there 4 days and went to the omelette station....they'll make your eggs any way you'd like...Also mid way through the cruise the omelette guy said Carnival now started using fresh eggs for their scrambled pre made ones. Before it was like some powered or liquid yukkk that you could tell the diff about for sure

Went to the dining room a few times for dinner and few times for sea day brunch

Food was really good each time

Also if you're chilling in your cabin they play a diff movie each day for free but also have pay per view movies for only $4.99. We bought a few during the cruise

Have fun and Enjoy your cruise. You'll Love the Miracle

We also booked this cruise. I liked the ports and sailing from Tampa is very easy for us, since we live in Atlanta.

The price with the early booking savings was amazing compared to the other lines. I too checked the reviews and it looked fine for us.

We were on the Miracle to Hawaii in 2014. It was our 1st cruise ever. We loved the ship and the staff were amazing! We sadly had to fly home from Honolulu due to a back injury, BUT, we will be on her again in 135 days for the 15 day Hawaii trip.. (repeat to get it right this time!). If you choose her, you won't be sorry...

This is our favorite ship. We sailed on her when she came over from the east coast to the west coast through the canal. We have done Hawaii and Mexico on her. We have the Journeys Alaska booked B2B with the Mexico after and we are also booked on the trip back to the east coast in January. We don't like Guy's, and prefer the hamburgers on Miracle. We love the size and that it is easy to get around. Also, look into the 4K staterooms. We had them on our last 2 cruises on Miracle, paid for an interior and had french doors we really enjoyed.

Unless something has changed in the last 3 months, I think the poster is confusing the Miracle with another ship. The grill is mid forward and the California 7 day boats haven't served steak sandwiches in about ten years. Burgers are good tho. And the chicken strips with honey mustard make a great chicken burger. They do usually have flat iron steaks on the lido buffet in the evening. Maybe you could butterfly one and take it to the deli and get a steak sandwich made. Now I'm hungry 😋.

The person that mentioned the canal transit, a tip: As you're going thru the locks, the front of the ship will be stacked 20 deep with people wanting to watch the gates open and close. Go down to deck 3 and go to the back of the ship - same view (in reverse), a LOT closer, and not too many people. Deck three on either side is also a great place to watch the all the activity required to get the ship thru.

We were on the Miracle out of Long Beach last May. The ship is older but well maintained. The Dining Room Food was, well awful in our opinion. The Comedy Club being on the lower deck caused a bit of nausea if the boat was rocking. We still had a great cruise, would I book it again....no.

Food quality goes up and down. This May the food was fine. The desserts were a great improvement over last year.

After lots of reviews and researching, we just booked this same cruise in a 4K room. It was the best bang for the buck. I dont need all those extras which just raise the prices. From what I've read, people either love or hate it! Those that hate it favor the newer, fancier, crowded ships IMO.

  • 4 weeks later...

We are booked on the Miracle out of Tampa next February. We are doing 7 day Western Caribbean.

We have done the Pride 3 times out of Baltimore and did the Liberty in Feb 2016 on Southern Caribbean Tour. We like the layout of the Spirit Class Ships.

First time in a 4K Room. Thought it was a very nice option for $20 / per person than an interior.

Just 207 more days to go.

We cruised the Miracle 6 times, out of NYC and convenient. We loved the ship, had 2 amazing favorite ports and would definitely chose that ship again, however she's no longer nearby.

We cruised the Miracle to HI Jan '14 and loved it. We really don't care about the "bling" factor and like the smaller ships. Scheduled to go on her again next Feb from Tampa. Hope she is still as good as our 2014 cruise. Glad she is coming to Tampa which is now our closest port. Have been sailing HAL last few years on same size ships (around 2,000). Will be interesting to compare the two lines. Don't expect food on Miracle to compare to what HAL serves, but hope it will be okay anyway. This is going to be kind of an experiment to see how we like Carnival compared to HAL. We will see, but hoping for the best.

Jane
