No frig in room ... ice?

What can you take for them to put ice in when your room does not have a fridge? Want to keep waters and ginger ale cold. Thanks for any ideas. Do not want to take a hard plastic cooler.

We always take a small collapsible cooler (large enough for about 8 sodas) in our luggage, and ask the steward on the first day to please keep it full. They normally fill both the cooler and the ice bucket.

We never saw the ice bucket on my trip 2 weeks ago, but we also didn't bother asking. Either bring a collapsible cooler or my guess is that you can tell them to bring ice.

Buy the Chill Out Water Package from the Fun Shops. It comes with a soft collapsable cooler. I got one on my last cruise and the room steward kept it full of ice. It is a great cooler and I still use it at home. Doesn't leak and keeps stuff nice a cold.

I have used a beer bucket to keep ice in. Simply to chill my wine. My Stuart always kept it full.

We keep a good size soft sided cooler filled with ice in the shower (if it leaks). Just remove it when we shower!

We carry on a small soft sided cooler with a plastic insert. We fill it with juice and horizon milk boxes for our toddler. Once on board, we put the juice and milk in the fridge and we ask our cabin steward to keep the cooler filled with ice. It's the perfect set up for us!

I have a collapsable cooler, it was a Platinum gift. It didn't leak for several cruises then it did so I put it in the shower.

I don't even remember seeing an ice bucket on my last cruise. Maybe you have to ask now.

You have to ask the cabin steward for an ice bucket and ice. I usually meet my cabin attendant soon after boarding and tip them extra in advance while asking them to make sure to fill the ice bucket twice per day. Never had a problem.

On our first cruise we brought a soft sided cooler, but i try to pack light now. Instead, I bring insulated tumblers and get ice and water from lido deck. I usually bring a soda to dinner and the MDR staff is more than willing to bring me a cup of ice for my drink.

I assume since you are going on the Ecstasy you will be driving to port. I asked the Steward to keep it filled with ice.

Just ask your room steward to bring one and they will and they will refill it once or twice a day.

Polar Bear soft side coolers do not leak and the are a great value.

Yes, it condensed in the shower.

So looking at your up-coming cruise on Ecstasy, I take it Ecstasy doesnt have fridges in rooms or certain rooms? I just thought all carnival ships had fridges in all rooms.

Also if you stop at like a Walgreens, CVS pharmacy, 7-Eleven or some store on your way to the port and pick up a 30 qt. styrofoam cooler for around $10. leak tight, keeps ice for a long time, holds a lot, when your done with cruise just crush it, throw it away so your not carrying it back home with you on the plane or car.

If there is no fridge in the cabin, what options are available to keep insulin cold?
