Boarding in Boston

We'll be traveling on the Dawn from Boston in August. What's the best time to arrive at the port to minimize wait times before we are able to get on the ship?

Anytime after noon you should be able to check in & board immediately.

There are usually many check in reps and a long counter. Assuming no computer glitches etc, check in goes rather quickly.

I just got off the Dawn.

I figured if we got there around 12:30, by the time I parked, dropped luggage, etc, it would be a quick walk on.

I was wrong. The lines were still going on. We were just getting lunch at 2:00, with muster at 3:00.

Check in is quick only if you don't have to wait in line to do it.

Based on past experience & that of friends, this is somewhat unusual. Boarding generally starts around 11:00 so by noon the lines are generally gone. We're cruising on Dawn again next week & I'm planning to arrive shortly after noon & pretty much breeze right through check in & boarding in about 20 minutes.............

That's what I was expecting as well. But then again, I also hit traffic on the Mass Pike, so that might have delayed people. I also noticed that there were a lot of large groups, so that might have had something to do with it.

Any one know if there is a CAS line in Boston?

We like to get there early.

I like to be @ the aft. MDR when they open.
