New Year's Evevent Cruise

Thinking about going on a holiday (NYE) on Holland America's Oosterdam. Wanting to look learn about crowds, all-night partying, and flying in and out of San Diego during that time (12-27) & (1/3-4)

I would be asking on the HAL board about the demographics on Oosterdam for those days. As it is a week long holiday cruise, younger than usual wouldn't surprise me.

San Diego is covered extensively on the West Coast Departures board.

I have done several New year's cruises to Mexican Riviera, and have cruised Oosterdam. It won't be overly crowded and partying will be fairly sedate. Flying to and from San Diego is always a pleasure, especially in comparison to nearby LAX.

Thanks for the replies. Ivery cruised HAL before and an aware of the experience.

I am more curious about the port stops, experiences, etc. and the Mexican Riviera as a whole.

LOL, no all night partying in port unless you miss the ship! The ports are fun, and the weather fabulous. This year when on Westerdam for our winter cruise, we especially enjoyed Las Calitas in Puerto Vallarta and our snorkeling excursion in Cabo that ended up including fabulous whale watching.

Oh, and crowds in port depend on number of cruise ship passengers, among other factors. You do know how to determine that?
