late night meal in Vancouver

Recommended Posts

We will be arriving in Vancouver on a late Thursday evening, around 10:00 PM. Wondering where we might get a late night bite to eat near the Marriott Pinnacle on Hastings.

Thank you!

Cheers

Vancouver does tend to be a late-opening, early-closing city for restos unfortunately. Your options before 9am and after 9pm do shrink a lot downtown. Fastfood obviously remains on the table, with a McDs and Timmies both close by, but I assume if you're asking you're asking this question you want something a bit more substantial than a takeout sammich!

Cactus Club Cafe at Coal Harbour is less than a quarter mile and serves until 1am (if a clear night, nice views too - and don't miss the Olympic Cauldron and Digital Orca, the latter of which actually sparkles at night making it even more delightful than in daytime). Tap & Barrel at the same location also serves food 'late' - they don't specify exactly when food service ends, so they can close the kitchen if it's slow. Rogue - slightly closer, other side of the street from convention centre - takes resos until 10:30pm Thursdays. The Keg steakhouse on Alberni seats until 10pm, but also does food in the lounge until midnight.

Opentable is also useful - if you try a mock booking for your date of arrival at 10pm, it'll confirm all the restos that accept them so you can see who's open (search by hotel address, restrict it to as far as you feel like walking). It's the most broadly-used booking engine in the city, with plenty middle-of-the-road places as well as swanky joints.

To clarify... is that 10pm wheels down at the airport or 10pm you expect to be downtown checked in?
