In the buffet saw someone take a bite out of a cookie and put it back and someone drop serving tongs then putting them back in the food.

One tablemate would take her bread dip in the butter dish, take a bit, and dip again. We did not use any butter during that cruise.

People pushing to get on an elevator when there is clearly someone in a wheelchair/scooter waiting to get on. It frosts my cookies.

A couple in a balcony below us moved their mattress out on the balcony every night and had really loud sex. And trust me, it was NOT a "pretty sight" (or sound). Ewwww!

Back in the 90's when age restrictions were not as stringent, I took my high school senior trip aboard a chartered cruise out of San Juan. It was a special cruise with over 800 teenagers and very few adults (my school in particular sent 3 adults to "watch over" our class of 90 students who probably partied harder than the teens).

Long story short, it was a bit out of control. First night, we had to turn around and head back to San Juan after being at sea for six hours because one of my classmates was having apendicitis symptoms. He was already having symptoms when we boarded, but he wanted to go on the trip so bad, that he just chose to keep it quiet (until the pain became unbearable). At around 5am, we were all lined up outside, watching our classmate being transferred to a Coast Guard cutter that took him ashore.

The next night, half the pool loungers "vanished" in the middle of the night. We learned that a group of students from another school had decided to throw them in the ocean for fun, so they were kicked off the ship at the next port of call in Aruba.

This was an older ship, so the electrical system wasn't designed to handle much. One night the power went out on our deck and it didn't take long to realize that if enough people turned their hair dryer on at the same time, it would trip the electrical system and make entire sections of the ship go dark. From that point on, it was on, with countdowns to turn the hair dryers on at the same time. That's until officers were sent down to our floor to warn the offending students to stop doing that unless we all wanted to end up in a ball of fire in the middle of the ocean caused by a short circuit.

I remember that, even though this was a high school graduation charter, somehow a handful of regular passengers (like 10) were onboard, including a honeymooning couple. And their cabin was on our deck so they had to put up with the antics of everyone around them for 7 days. Poor people. Talk about a "memorable" honeymoon.

A few days later in St. Thomas, some students decided to steal souvenirs (I'm talking $2 key chains). Well, they were caught and arrested. Because some were minors, the parents had to fly down to St. Thomas in order to bail their kids out.

Because it was a special charter, each student had to pay a $250 "damage deposit" refundable at the end of the cruise. Needless to say, NOBODY got their deposit back. A lot of bad things can happen when you put 800 unsupervised teenagers on a cruise ship and feed them alcohol for 7 days straight (yup, no age restrictions to purchase alcohol onboard either).

20+ years later, we still talk about that cruise, and alternate between laughing and feeling shame about all the things that happened which are too many to list on this post. But now, as "responsible" adults, we look back in shock at how a charter like that was ever allowed and how today it would NEVER happen.

I was watching Million Dollar Quartet on Norwegian and some mom took her 4 year old (ish) daughter down to the stage and tried to have her sit on stage so she could see better during the show. Staff intervened.

Two stories: First, coming back to the ship on a tender and were welcomed by sight of an elderly gentleman on a balcony being "serviced" by his wife in plain view of everyone. Showed no shame either when they saw us! Second, a foreign gentleman decided to use the showers at the pool to take a real shower, unfortunately in a pair of tighty whiteys and also soaped up under them, again in plain view of everyone, including children. [emoji33]

Its always the ones who blow their nose so loudly when you are eating your food.

I've seen a Dad hold a toddler up in the air so she could pee into a potty which Mom held (about a foot below, so loud tinkling noises).

Mom then proceeded to empty said potty into the drain of the poolside shower...........

We decided to take a cruise for our honeymoon back in the 90's.............

On the Serenade of the Seas, when they called the afternoon snacks "tea time" a woman went to the station where they had the plates , took one, then proceeded to wipe the condensation off on her backside, then went on to fill her plate.

3-year old child playing in splash pool tells his disinterested mother he has to use the bathroom. She quietly tells him to just pee in the pool.

On the Freedom we had a group of teenagers that smeared peanut butter and jelly on every elevator button on the ship. I thought it's teenagers pulling pranks but some people were really upset. Did I mention it was formal night

I usually mind my own business, but if I saw someone take a bite out of something and put it back on the buffet, I would have said something. Same for the other post about the mom who told her kid to pee in the pool. People can be so disgusting. When it comes to their actions impacting other people, I hope people speak up.

Thankfully, I can't remember witnessing any disgusting behavior on any of my cruises. Rude behavior, yes. But nothing disgusting comes to mind.

(not on Royal) This was a short cruise i think 4 days to Cozumel & back (so it was cheap,, we got 2 adjoining rooms for 4 people for dirt cheap

We had a family get on the ship in denim overalls & baseball caps.. they spent most of the cruise in those outfits, as well as being barefoot.. and had their children use their bare hands to get food from the buffet..

same cruise, there was a family reunion, and the kids kept climbing onto the bars, taking handfuls of olives and cherry's.. parents did nothing even after they were reprimanded... this was a constant complaint with this group, the kids were out of control the entire time!

I usually mind my own business, but if I saw someone take a bite out of something and put it back on the buffet, I would have said something. Sometimes the shock of seeing this just stuns you and they are away quickly.

I'm pretty whiny about smokers, but this was on Celebrity just a few years ago when there was no smoking anywhere but maybe in the casino and a few bars and on one side of the deck or something (not exactly sure since we don't smoke). This old codger had to smoke his cigar nightly and his family would gather around in full fancy dinner dress and stand around shielding him from view and let him smoke on the pool deck in the part where the windbreak was. And they would defiantly stare holes in people that looked at them. I never went to check to see if they stopped as I have never had good luck getting cruiselines to make people stop smoking on the balcony next to me, even when I paid for a suite and the other passenger didn't. I give up.
