If NCL and Oceania decide to build a 3rd Marina class ship, what would frequent Oceania cruisers want added, or subtracted, or changed.

I would like to see a piano bar, but don't know where to put it. A slightly enlarged former smoking area in Horizons is a possibility (although an after ten PM usage of a specialty restaurant is a possibility.

I also wonder how many feel the paddle tennis court is a good use of the space?

I would like to see a piano bar,

Don't they have one already or is it something different than what they have you are looking for ?

They still have the smoking area

Do away with the casino bar

1. Definitely outdoor space on the lower levels....some sort of a promenade deck with chairs.

2. Remove the golf and better utilize that top deck outdoor space. It's a perfect viewing area.

Move paddle tennis to rear of ship so it is use able. A total waste where it is. Too much wind when ship is at sea. Voyager position is great.

Enlarge all of the specialty restaurants so those who wish can dine more times in them.

Then it would not be so special. Would it? Plenty of places to dine. Most of the time no problem getting extra reservations.

+1

Although it would also be enjoyable if the upper deck Specialty Restaurants could share an open air courtyard, as they do on Cunard

What a great idea. Have never been on Cunard so did not know it was there. A great reason to build a new ship. :):):)

I love the O ships—the decor, the spaciousness, the variety of venues--and I wouldn’t really change much about them.

I agree with earlier posters that it would be great to have more outdoor tables and chairs for drinks and dining; perhaps enlarge the outside section of the Terrace café—and provide bar service between meals. Perhaps make the windows and part of the ceiling in the seating section of Waves retractable.

The one thing I would change, is what boerneDQ mentioned—the location of the closet in the veranda cabins is awkward, and I’d love to see it moved across from the bathroom.

And the one thing I would NOT subtract is the bathtub in the veranda cabins! I’ve read a lot of posts in various threads by folks who would rather have a larger shower and no tub. I am not of that ilk. For me, one of the luxuries of being on vacation is having the time most days to take a bath, and another luxury is never having to clean the tub when I’m done!

So, is this thread idle pipe dreaming, or is Oceania planning a 3rd O ship?

There's already a "piano bar." It's Martini's. However, the problem is that the piano is much too close to the bar- rendering the seats on the left side useless if the song being played is anything more than quiet background music. Oddly enough, on the R ships, the piano in Martini's is at the opposite diagonal corner from the bar.

So, one change would be to relocate the Martini's piano on any new O class ship.

Speaking of bars, either get rid of the gaudy Casino Bar neon type lighting or get rid of the Casino Bar itself.

Make the ships non-smoking and regain the lost space to be used for small private functions.

To Flatbush Flyer - post 16 and all before - thanks for all your comments. To Flatbush flyer - My bad for not making clear what type of piano bar I was hoping to add. 1) Piano has seat around it so 5 to 9 people are close to the piano player 2) the piano player almost always sings 3) the room is sealed with closeable doors permitting noisy sing-alongs, comments and joking around.

My recollection of Martini's does not fit 1 or 2 or 3 above. Most of my old Holland American cruises had a room with all three. I remember a HAL cruise 4-6 years ago when I was in their room sitting at the side of the piano with another gentleman who I did not know. We joked with and sang with the piano player for 20-40 minutes. Two nights later, that gentleman was in the main showroom playing

classical piano on stage.

On a Celebrity cruise, which had a jazz society group on board, one of the paid jazz singers came in the room and did several numbers just because it was fun and she was in the mood.

... Make the ships non-smoking ...

And they're off!

Can we get some dress code enforcement, internet quality, pool lounge chair etiquette, and other 4P (peoples' personal pet peeves) suggestions in here? Might as well build the policies into the ship itself.

I'm +++in agreement. We love the tub! On our 25 day cruise when our daughter shared our cabin with us we all used the tub frequently.

We love to eat outside on the terrace and it would be great to have more tables. However it can't come at the expense of the indoor tables. When the weather is not conducive to dining al fresco it gets pretty hectic in there. On a hot day the space at waves is like an oven. It needs some fans to move the air and more "windows" that can be opened.

I also agree it would be great to have a bar that serves a limited menu for the times in between.

Yes, there is room service but most of its inedible. I still remember the roast beef sandwich we ordered that had one slice of beef, so thin it was translucent. If we need a bite we order the cheese plate. Oh, and the onion soup. These are the only items we have found to be consistently acceptable.

The problem with the paddle tennis is that can not be used on sea days. The wind across the deck in the bow could be 40 miles per hour and no one can play in those conditions. On ships with the court in the right place they are crowd:(ed all the time.

A larger bar (more seating) in Martini's. Keep the tub and shower in the veranda stateroom bathroom (that's what makes them "special")

This could be accomplished by eliminating the Casino bar, moving Casino elements into the space (but adding soundproofed doors at the entry from the foyer where the string quartet plays) and then expanding the actual Martini's bar into the vacated casino space. This would also allow movement of the piano away from the bar itself.

BTW, please - no singalongs at Martini's or elsewhere.
