Anything to do or avoid ( dining, counter service, activities) do you sign your kids up daily for kids club. How does it work. If we have early dining do they come

And get them or just after the show if they want? What time is the club open until? He is 7 almost 8.

Most of your questions are easily answered with a little on line research. There is a "sticky" at the top of these boards of tips and such, look at the dates as many things have changed.

The Oceaneer's Club and Lab are open generally from 9 am till midnight. You can take the kid any time you wish. Sign him up on line in advance. You can get his wristband in the terminal if you wish, but if there is a line, wait till the first time you want to take him--no lines on the ship usually. YOU can take him after the show. No, the kid fairy is not going to pick him up for you. Dine and play is only available with late dining, but for 16 years, mothers have excused themselves between courses to take their kid to the programming when they are done eating. Just ask your server to expedite the kid food.

The kid programming is a drop off whenever you wish. No need to specify times in advance. Just take him to the entrance wearing his wrist band. No band = no entrance. And don't lose it or you'll pay for it. No reason to keep it as it won't work anywhere else.

If you ask your server to expedite the kid dinner, he can be done in 45 minutes. You can take him to the programming if desired. Or he can eat in the dining room with you. There are family activities typically beginning at 7:30 in the D lounge and other locations around the ship. The Dream won't usually have the entertainers doing family shows then (this happens on longer cruises). The shows start at about 8:30. So yes, you can take him to the programming from 6:30 (or whenever he finishes eating) till you want to pick him up for the show.

There are really no "bad" seats. The doors open 30 minutes before the show. If you want to get a bunch of seats together, don't wait till the last minute!

Basically, kid area is midship deck 5. Theatre is forward, deck 4, but the entrance is close to the midship area. The bulk of the theatre runs toward the bow of the ship. Bottom line--it is not FAR from Oceaneer's Club entrance to the theatre, but it will take a few minutes. And everyone may have the same idea of signing their kid out, so you may have a line at the OC entrance/exit.

He may want to hang out in the dining room with you guys rather than hurrying his meal. And you might choose to do something as a family after dinner...or go back to the room for a short time...or whatever. If you opt to take him to the programming, it won't be for very long. Your best bet will be a "go with the flow" approach. Just keep in mind what your options are. There will also be come characters out during the break between dinner and show.

They will be scheduled meet and greets listed in the Navigator. There are typically a couple in the atrium and sometimes one outside the theatre.

Best hint of all, READ the Navigator. There are lots of little gems in there for people who look at them. If you just do a quick scan, you'll miss stuff. Bring a highlighter and mark things you want to remember! Or bring several and let each person have a color for stuff to remember!

The navigator app is a free download and doesn't require internet on the ship, but I prefer the paper copy. Old fashioned, I know.

There is a multi princess photo op/signing that requires reservations at least on the first day of the cruise. Not sure if it can be done earlier. We are just back and saw them with not much of a line and asked why. We didn't have small kids so didn't worry much. But always saw long lines for characters. So I'd try to get the reservation ones! (think there might be a couple like that).

The "reservation ones" are usually the princess gathering and the Frozen characters. You pick up your tickets on the first day of the cruise--location listed in the Navigator. Each cabin needs a reservation and one person from each cabin must show up to get the free ticket (you can't get tickets for a group of cabins even though you may all be one extended family).

yes, the lines for characters do get long at times.....best to be there 5 minutes before the character is due to come out and be among the first in line!
