Cabin Time

You will also get a letter when you check in giving the scheduled times for each cabin class and information about dining on embarkation day.

We have found that they often open the cabins earlier than the letter but not always. As has been said, it depends on how quick they can get it done.

The times quoted in the letter reference when the various cabin categories are asked to arrive at the ship, not when the cabins will be ready.

That said, those rules are most enforced for Florida embarkations.

Elsewhere in the World, Oceania recognizes that a large number of passengers are arriving at the port after a long, tiring flight, and passengers are usually permitted to board the ship as they arrive.

Cabins will be opened for occupancy when the housekeeping staff finishes the "turn around" process, and an announcement will be made.

Stan & Jim,

I don't quite understand. Why would they give you a letter on board telling you what time to board. You are already on board!!

We have always received a letter along with our World Card, etc telling us the hours of the Terrace Cafe and the approximate time various cabin levels would be available. The letter further states announcements will be made as cabins are available.

Perhaps it has been a while since you have been on Oceania.

Exactly. There is information in the very nice Cruise package that gives boarding times. At Check In you are given a letter from the GM telling you when your cabin will be ready - or in the case of (at least) Owners, Vista and Oceania suites that is IS ready! - and then you board and have lunch. Announcements are made as soon as the various categories are ready, starting with PH1.
