Viking toiletries 2016

Can anyone who is or has been on a 2016 Viking River Cruise verify whether the toiletries this year are still L'Occitane or whether they switched to their Oceans' brand Freya?

Last week, on the Paris-Normandy cruise, it was Freyja.

Oh shucks! I was so looking forward to the L'Occitane!

We were on the Elbe cruise last week and they were Freya.

Bummer! Not that Freya is bad - just not as nice as the L'Occitane in my opinion.

We just got home from a Douro cruise on the Viking Osfrid and the toiletries were L'Occitaine. I plan to post a review as soon as CC adds the Osfrid (new this year) to the list of Viking ships.

Ah! Maybe there hope I'll get L'Occitane after all. We board next Tuesday - I'll let you know what I find.

Please do! I'm hopeful that our Bordeaux cruise will be accompanied with the l'Occitane as well! It's a silly thing, but I now associate the Lemon Verbena fragrance with our previous Viking cruise.

Don't hold your breath! We had Freya on the Njord April 16-23, 2016 and boy did we have a lot of it....we ended up filling the bottom shelf with all the products to make room for our stuff on the top ones!

We just returned yesterday from Tulips & Windmills and had the Freya products, I liked the subtle scents. While I like the lemon verbena scent it's quite drying to the skin and we can buy L'Occitane here at home.

We returned home on March 18, 2016 from the Viking Emerald to China and had the L'Occitane products.

Onboard now - no L'Occitane :( only Freya products. Sounds like the major European routes have converted to Freya with only a few itineraries still retaining L'Occitane until stocks run out. Boo-hoo!

What toiletries are provided in the rooms?

As I recall, we had bar soap, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion. I don't think we had conditioner but I could very well be mistaken. All came in relatively large containers, not your typical hotel size AND there were at least two of every one. Our guest bath at home is now well stocked!

There was Conditioner.

I love l'occitane shampoo, etc. i am sad that Viking has discontinued it. Nothing stays the same.

Has anyone with colored hair used Freyja products? If so, how is on color treated hair?

Oh rats I just bought some to test it. I have issues with allergies to so many products and the L'Occitane was fine. Now I'm going to have to bring my own - and I was hoping to avoid that :(

Freyja is fine with blond dyed hair (highlighted). Can't comment on other darker shades. The products did seem kinda mild to me.

I sure enjoyed reading this...! It's the little things. I prefer L'Occitane as well. My daughter and I sail the Danube in six weeks

I did a search on this new brand and I can't find it anywhere. Are any of you familiar with it? If so, where did you get the products? I'd like to try them out - maybe I won't have to take my own.

As 'Freyja' is a Norse Goddess I should imagine that Viking has either commissioned an existing company to produce a house product for them or have their own company producing it, which would make some sense with the size of their fleet. Why not ask Viking.

There is another site, I will try to refind it, where they show the bodywash and shampoo products, and post it.

But it definitely is not a "made for Viking" product.
