We are embark on the Deliziosa in 2 days. We qualify as Pearl Diamond now. I haven't heard anything one way or the other. I'm still shown as Pearl Gold on the website.

I called Costa in Miami and they never know anything so they emailed Genoa and asked them if we will be Pearl Diamond on this cruise. Genoa's answer was that it will start later this month.

We will be Pearl Gold on this cruise and Pearl Diamond on the Fortuna in March.

Thank you for express answer:-)

I also see in website service old status, send inquiry via e-mail to Costa and waiting for any answer - but after your research I think that for this cruise I will keep current status.

Have a nice cruise on Delizioza!

Today I found that Costa recalculated my points and status in Costa Club according to new rules of the Club.

After logging on Costa Website there is a message informing that new benefits will be available for Costa Club Members for cruises starting in the end of January/begining of February with except of Luminosa, where they will be available after Word Cruise.

On the other hand, reading news rules shows that some of new benefits (f.e. Club Restaurant reserved for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole cruise) will be valid since June 2016.

Resuming: new rules of Costa Club are staring to work.

Also, if with the new Costa Club points recalculation your membership level would drop (i.e. Pearl to Coral), your old level (i.e. Pearl) would be guaranteed til 30.06.2016.

New Costa Club not valid on the Far East ships (Atlantica, Victoria, Serena and Fortuna).

Still some conflicting information (typical Costa), e.g. for Pearl level free dinner in the club restaurant in one place and the Samsara Restaurant in another place.

I agree - there are some conflicting information in different pages or materials of Costa - hope that they fix it soon...

I consider at the moment next cruise on Costa Victoria.

You said that Costa Club do not work on this ship.

Do you know if they do not calculate points for cruises on Victoria, do not give benefits for Costa Club members or something else ?

With regards to the Far East ships not being part of the new Costa Club, it isn't clear if it applies to benefits and points or just benefits.

There is just a note saying that ships on the asian routes that the new benefits are available.

The note is from the following link (in German), also look at the dates for the Costa Fortuna 5th. Feb. - 1st. April:

Just back off the Diadema, & what a shambles no one knew about privilege boarding, cruise consultant told us no more discounts, I have gone from 23,820 to 14,058 points even with four cruises in last three years.

Now at same level I was in 2005.

Club Restaurant still bookable for GPL but only cruises taken during last three years count regardless of how many cruises with them before.

To reach Perla Diamante (26001)you will need to do two 12 day cruises with them every year, fail one year and you go back to gold Pearl or lower.

What a total farce, after years of supporting the Costa brand we are now treated like this.

Met a couple at the airport, who had only done three previous cruises with Costa & they are at same level as us who over 18 years had done more than twenty.

Thank heavens for Princess we are on our way back guys.

Loyality has no place in today's world (Costa's world). Also Costa has no respect for it's repeat customers.

Yes, it's annoying, I've gone from 35K to 15K. But it's not a deal breaker, I won't be going back on Princess after my experience there- not bad, just not particularly good, really boring compared to Costa. The new Latin dance teams they've put on are far more important to me than a few rather trivial perks.

I have ended up in pearl which was where I went up to after last cruise, so alls good here. The Costa product is more important than points,

The dancing, the a atmosphere, the ships themselves.

The perks- well bottle of sparking wine- drank about a third of mine last time

The fruit- well nice but can get it from buffet. Priority boarding- nice but this years cruise dont think many getting on where I am so should be quick with or without it, captains cocktail party and photo with captain- well he is superimposed lol, discount in onboard shops- dont buy much on board. ( still have all of the above but could do without)

Like the OBC rather than casino chips particularly as this is just a 3 night cruise so on drinks package available

Hoping the farewell gift is still the model of the ship on the wooden plinth, managed to get one for each ship sailed on before ( when I was not eligible for one mum and dad got one but they had already got them so I got them)

Be interesting to see what the welcome gift if for newbies- husband will be on his first cruise.

Have never had a gift for moving up a status- think they have been a little hit and miss with somethings in the past but not bothered really

On my Cruise on the Deliziosa a few weeks ago I was still Pearl Gold but qualified for Pearl Diamond. They had not implemented it yet.

We will embark on the Fortuna in Dubai 25 March for 7 nights and will receive Pearl Diamond as Fortuna just started it a couple weeks ago.

As it will be a back to back we head to Shanghai on the Fortuna on 1 April and that cruise Pearl Diamond will not be available.

Hopefully they wont take my Pearl Diamond cruise card away ;)

Hello

we are going to cruise on Victoria also in October from Shanghai.

I have been told that we will get the points for the cruise, but no upgrade possible as mentionned for one more Costa cruise than the previous year.

On all Far East/Australian cruises the new club rules do not come in until later in the year.

Your points will be recalculated as each ship reaches its date.

You can see dates by going into Costa Club new rules on their site.

I was wondering why after 30 years of cruising with Costa, I was credited with but 1 point in my account.

They're having a larf.

Reminds me of the old days of the European Song Contest when it was always announced Great Britain "un point". Maybe you will get 12 points from MSC next time.:)

When you consider MSC are matching the loyalty status with other travel brands it doesn't make sense. One goes one way and the other goes the opposite.

All I would say is don't use your Costa Club Status ;)

I think you will find it is the Eurovision Song Contest and the country is the United Kingdom - Royaume Uni and not Grande Bretagne!

With 5 winners to the UK as opposed to 2 for Germany - I think they may have been getting their fare share of 'douze points'.

Just been informed by Costa that although we had well over the 26001 points at the start of this year they are now considered HISTORIC points (except the last three years) and don't count for anything.

WOW cruising with Costa for over twenty years soon to be downgraded unless we continue cruising with them for two weeks each year, way to go Costa you sure know how to treat long term loyal customers who according to your loyalty manager will be better off under the new club rules.

Maybe you have not cruised with them over the last three years.

try writing to their loyalty manger sisinni@costa.it on how you benefit from new rules, as he quotes you are better off with new club rules.

Got a great up-grade on our next cruise to a Suite, okay as perks go but still not sure about staying with Costa, been looking for a Christmas & February cruise but all I get from their site is 'Page not Available' so had to book with another line (MSC).

Surely these new so called rules will lose them customers.
