This is the first time our eldest has been old enough to use a kids club and we are hesitant

DS has never been in daycare or a crèche etc and was interested to hear how other parents found the Adventure Ocean programme on Vision of the seas .

Wasn't sure where to find info on it etc (other than email RCI) and would prefer to see other folks experiences :o

DS will be 3 in July, we sail in October. We have previously used the Royal Tots programme with him for the play sessions and the afternoon open play but not the drop off service. Many thanks .

We have used kids club twice on Grandeur, which is same class ship as Vision. I have posted the AO compasses for both our cruises (see links in my signature), so you can see the types of activities they have. Our son was three on our first cruise, but one month shy of 4 - so an older 3 :). He had been in day care, but was a bit hesitant about AO until he met some other kids. Our first cruise had maybe 40-50 kids, but only 10-12 in the 3-5 range. Once he met a few of the kids, if they were in the club, he would go in. If they were not in there, he did not want to go. By our second cruise, he was 5, and he begged to go to club every night.

Take your child on the 1st day to "orientation" when everyone is "new"...then, see how it goes! Most kids love it!!! If yours doesn't...just keep trying...kids have to LEARN independence...and doing stuff like this is the way to do it! The program is great...and counselors are great....so give it a go!

We went on a different line with our 3 yr old. She's never been to daycare and typically won't even go in the nursery at the gym. We spent a lot of time talking about the special club just for kids and the activities offered. We also made it clear to her and the staff that as soon as she was ready to leave to call us. We checked in often, many times she was having so much fun she sent us away.
