Star Wars tax

We heard about the new Star Wars Sea Day being offered on the Disney Fantasy, which sounds really fun. My wife is a huge Star Wars fan and we both like to cruise, so it sounded like a fun vacation for us. We've cruised Carnival before and were kinda disappointed with it, and NCL was actually pretty good, and we think we'd like DCL.

Anyways, turns out that all the sailings that have the Star Wars Day at Sea all cost about $2,000 more than other sailings. I understand it's Disney, but this is not worth almost double the price. :( Too bad because I do think it sounds fun.

It's not a tax, just basic supply and demand.

The other lines you mentioned all have many more ships to fill than DCL, and do not have a USP like DCL along with owning the rights to such popular movies such as Star Wars.

I'm sure CCL and NCL would raise their prices if they could too!
