Drinks to try with UBP

I was reading different drinks to try since we'll have the UBP on our next sailing. One that I saw was Mr. Wonderful. I've never even heard of that. If I order a "Mr. Wonderful" are they going to know what I am talking about?

What are some of your favorites? I like fruity drinks, usually.

I was going to say "whatever you want" then I saw the fruity drinks comment. My wife just goes up to the bar and says make me some sort of fruity drink, if she likes it she may ask them to make it again. a few bartenders say "I can't I don't remember what I put in it" :lol

I guess I'll go back to whatever you want;)

Is that list actual drinks that NCL had on their menu? I have found on most cruises when asking for a drink not on their menus that no one knows how to make them. Last NCL cruise my BIL was looking for an electric lemonade, finally found 1 bartender on the entire ship that even knew what he was talking about and could make it.

And how is the sidecar missing from the martini menu? I tried that at LeBistro for the first time and loved it and I see it is gone from the menu now. I sure hope someone still will make them.

I like to try different drinks, but I can never remember the names or ingredients. Would love to see a bit more options than just the everyday stuff and what is on the menu.

Remy Martin XO for $1.50 extra wuth the UBP. Usually goes for $30/glass in the states. The guys in the casino would bring me one as soon as I walked in. Also try the Don Julio 1492 Tequila those are free with UBP and it goes for $100/bottle in the US. SHHHH!!!! Don't tell anyone :):):)

One of my new favorites is 'Red Light District'. It was on the menu in Getaway's Haven and I've also seen it on Escape's District bar menu. It has pomegranate, rum, lemon juice, orange bitters and soda water. Really refreshing!

My frozen favorites are Mango Meltdowns and BBCs. You don't need dessert when you have one of these:cool:

I leave on the Breakaway in less than two weeks and I told my dh in addition to my usual mojitos, I cannot wait to have the BBCs again. LOVED THEM.

I would commit crimes for a BBC right now. 45 days Zuke, just 45 days.

It's actually called "Mr. Worldwide," I liked it a lot. Vodka, strawberry, champagne, Pimms. Fruity without being citrus-y.

Thank you! I am going to try this!

I think I will also be trying the BBC. Is that how you order it? "BBC" or do you call it by its full name? (What is it the full name?)

Thanks!

It's a Bailey's Banana Colada, but you can just say "BBC" and they'll know what you want. You can't get it at all the bars, though, only the ones that have a blender. Great Outdoors or the pool bar is your best bet.

I've been able to get great BBCs at O'Sheehans and the casino bar too! Apparently they like to keep me near that casino;)

Last week on the Gem, my DS turned my DH onto a drink called an AMF--like a long island ice tea, but a beautiful blue.

I can't tell you what the initials stand for because they will ban me from the boards-lol. They are delicious!

The bartenders know it by the initials

I had an AMF on the Pearl -- for those who don't know what that means, it rhymes with "adios mother trucker."

It's four different types of clear spirits (white rum, silver tequila, vodka, something else) and blue curacao, shaken & topped with 7-up. It's lethal! I had one in the Bliss Lounge on karaoke night for liquid courage

Love the BBC and Miami Vice. Tried a bunch of new ones last month in the BA. Raspberry guava mojito, Toma, peach Bellini, Mr. Worldwide were all good. Also had some if my favorites lemon drop and espresso martinis. I almost forgot about a lava flow. Pina colada with strawberry puree swirled in it... heavenly!

Make sure to look at the menus at each bar and restaurant because they usually have something different and the restaurant will have signature drinks.
