Britannia suite

Wow ok, I hadn't reckoned on that the last I heard it was in the OG. Not that it matters!

Yes we thought that, as it says so on the P&O web site.

But it does not matter as Sindhu is just as nice. Not sure about eating bacon and eggs with chopsticks though.

:) :) :)

Last time we cruised with P&O your choices for breakfast were either the MDR (which I don't like in the mornings) or the buffet or, of course room service, where is the alternative breakfast restaurant on Aurora now for suite passengers?

The alternative on Aurora is at the back of The Glass House.:)

Would the butler bring a bottle of wine to the room or would that be room service? What about booking a trip. We have a fair amount of onboard credit and don't want to use it up booking beforehand. Also wondering about the retreat? We probably wouldn't want to book it everyday but perhaps the odd day. Would the butler arrange that? Thanks for any advice.

He will. If you request a bottle of anything he should open it, get the glasses out of the cupboard, and pour it for you.

We have also ordered glasses of rum and coke and, again, he should, on arrival, fill the glass with ice (if requested), pour the coke in and pass it to you. This is what Butlers the World over are trained to do and should, by rights, do for you wherever you are - on ship or land.

Also, if you have an afternoon tour and cannot get any food early enough ask him to put something in the fridge.

We were once told by a Butler to ring him for ANYTHING that you wish sorted in the Suite. Never ring Reception - they're not as good as sorting stuff out.

Enjoy him - you don't get them at home! :)

12.30 boarding !! Just another thought. We are on freedom dining. Would the butler book us a table ?

We don't think so.

Freedom dining isn't like a specialist restaurant like Sindhu where you can ask your Butler to book a specific time.

You normally turn up to FD and if they don't have a table available you are given a beeper which you take away. When a table becomes available they beep you. We don't see how that would work with a Butler trying to book a table for you.

You could ask him - you never know! :)

PS. You always get a 12:30pm boarding time in a Suite.

  • 4 weeks later...
Just sorting out the packing!! Will the other half be OK with decent shorts and short sleeved shirt (decent make that they sell onboard) for the Epicurean breakfast or are long trousers better?

Decent shorts and short sleeve shirts or polo shirts are fine.

Happy Cruising! :)

Don't forget suites don't have to pay the supplement applicable to some room service items (such as cheese and biscuits).

I wasn't aware of that (although my husband was apparently!). Do you know what else you don't have to pay the supplement for?

we have B726 so plenty of room for a party would he serve cocktails beer ect and how ? would her set up a bar thanks all for your help

It depends on what you have in mind when you say 'set up a bar'. Only Penthouse Suites have actual bars.

I would have thought he would bring whatever drinks you wanted everyone to have. He may bring a number of bottles at a time and ensure that there were enough glasses in your Suite to be able to serve them in. You would have to check with him how he would do it.

We have found that if you order something from the Room Service Menu which has an supplement - like the Chicken and Bacon Baguette - as long as you order it through the Butler you don't get charged. We really like the Chicken and Bacon baguette. However, if you just order it from Room Service yourself you will be charged. We found this out when we ordered it ourselves from Room Service and our butler happened to come in as it was arriving and he told us that next time to get him to do the ordering and we wouldn't be charged.

That is really interesting, and helpful. Many thanks. :)

As Im sitting on my case trying to squeeze as much in as possible just wondering if the suites have an iron and trouser press? Do the suites have any perks re disembarkation? We usually opt for an early self disembarkation. Thanks. So pleased the thread has been so popular and thanks to all the contributions. Much appreciated!

Yes, they have an iron and a trouser press.

You can get off when you wish in a Suite. You should get a letter telling you this a few days before. Your Butler should also confirm this with you. Obviously, if you are self-disembarking, this won't have any relevance.

Have a fantastic time! Very jealous! :)

There isn't a trouser press in the suites on Britannia, just the iron & ironing board.
