Looking for Sky / Freeport Day daily newsletter

If anyone has a scan or picture of a Freeport day from a Sky cruise please link me to it; would be most helpful. Thanks in advance (insert beer icon; all other forums seem to have a beer icon)

Give me a day or two and I will scan one for you. We were docked in Freeport May 19 so it doesn't get any fresher than that. We stayed on board while there but lounged by the pool with a book and a beer all afternoon.

That would be awesome. I'm 90% leaning to staying on board with a drink and a book (or pillow) too.

Did you enjoy the Sky? What was a highlight for you?

We had a great time. The shows and comedian were first rate. We played Deal or No Deal all 3 nights. The Not So Newlywed Game was fun to watch. We took the waverunner tour and rented paddleboards on GSC. The main dining room, Crossings was pretty empty the first 2 nights. We almost had it to ourselves and various crew would stop and talk with us each night as we sat and finished the bottle of wine after dinner. Without a doubt this was the friendliest crew we've ever encountered.

Did you have any of the promos? We have the drink promos package; assume they are good on drink of the day and specials?

We're both pretty particular about what we drink so did not explore drink of the day. But according to Mrs BamaVol, they make an excellent Bahama Mama. We bought the 4 bottle $98 wine package which included an excellent Wente Brothers Cab. We alternated with the Blackstone Merlot but next time I would go all Cabernet. I stuck to beer otherwise. A 16 oz Dos Equis draft was $5.75 I think.

Although we've been to Nassau numerous times, we did get off and walk to the John Watlings Distillery - it's maybe a mile from the dock. The tour was brief, but it's a lovely location and the frozen Pina Coladas are 2 for $18 and will definitely cool you off after the trek there. I bought a bottle of their 5 year old dark rum because it's not available elsewhere. I haven't opened it yet so can't say if it's any good. The plan is to pour it over a couple ice cubes and sip.

I *think* your plan will succeed.

We've been to Nassau before and went to that distillery. Nice grounds, friendly bar staff. It's a great "free" site to see in Nassau. Yes, the drinks they made packed a punch.

Again, thanks for posting those photos!

I was able to click and see each page you had scanned. This is a big help for me. Thank you for taking the time to scan it and let me know. :D

Glad to help. If that wasn't enough, there is more, 4 pages of spa specials, casino tournaments, photo specials, drinks and games but you got most of it if you saw all 4 pages.

Nope; perfect. I know where to get food and booze while everyone else is off the ship.

I also stopped in a liquor store, somewhere between the dock and the main shopping drag (Bay Street) and bought a couple single beers - a Banks and a Strong Back Stout. Although my rum was confiscated (nicely), the guy waved me through with the beers and I was able to enjoy them on the ship.

Now that you mention it, there is a beer brewery in Freeport that I was considering. (I know the above post references Nassau) Do like to sample different beers. It's not an NCL excursion. May run over there in the morning to check it out and shoot on back to the ship for a lazy afternoon. Owe you a beer if our paths cross.

Now I have a reason to go back. :D Tripadvisor reviews are overwhelmingly favorable. I like to try different beers and love brewery tours.

I misspoke earlier. It was a bottle of Sands and a Strong Back. I looked but did not see Bush Crack. It's worth trying if only to tell others you had one.

My husband and I just did the Sands Brewery tour in Freeport earlier this month and we would recommend if you like beer of course. It cost us $26 roundtrip for the 2 of us by taxi. A little steep for the 5 mile journey but it was a rainy day and our cab driver waited for us while we were at the brewery. I believe the tour was $5 per person plus tax. It's a walking tour of the brewery and then your guide will take you to the tap room. Our guide explained each beer and we sampled. After sampling, it was basically a free for all. You could have as much as you like. I think we were there for about an hour to an hour and a half. So after costs and tips, our $50 excursion worked out well and was great that we could go at our own pace.

I would love to see the rest of your pages! We leave on the 8th

If you double click on the page shown, it will take you to another 3. I can add the rest if you'd like. It's a little redundant but may be of some value.

Oh, there are 3 more days when I get around to it.

Thanks, that's pretty reasonable on cost and could be interesting.

How hard was it to get a taxi? I've been planning on going to the brewery when I stop there in November on the Sky but am concerned about finding a taxi that will take us there. I've read that a lot of taxis are waiting to drive people to Grand Lucayan and not the brewery.

I have added Welcome Aboard materials, the Shore Excursion Order Form and Day 1 Freestyle Daily. Just double click on the Day 2 Daily displayed in an earlier post (post #6 on this thread) and you will be taken to a Photobucket library with all my 4 day Sky printed materials (ultimately). Within a day or so, I should have days 3 and 4 uploaded.
