North Sea weather and unrelated sports channel question (Eclipse)

Afternoon :) I have searched unsuccessfully but apologies if this is a FAQ. Firstly, does anyone know what the average weather is likely to be in the North Sea? Travelling on Eclipse from Southampton up to the Norwegian Fjords, leaving on Saturday. Only ever gone to the Med from Southampton so have no clue what the weather is going to be like, and consequently what to pack for the sea days.

Secondly, is it likely that the F1 GP will be shown anywhere onboard on Sunday? We'll be on a Sea Day so no idea what if any satellite channels we might get.

Thank you!

Hi,

We are on the same cruise, and are expecting weather to be between 18-14 getting marginally colder as we travel north, we are all taking proper waterproof coats and lots of layers. We are not expecting to be doing any sunbathing on the first sea day, we can of course live in hope

See you on board

Definitely take layers and a waterproof. We've visited Bergen twice and have experienced sun on both occasions - even though, I believe, it's the wettest place in Europe. You never know what to expect when heading north. Enjoy ;).

We have done two cruises that involved entering the North Sea. Both cruises we had stormy weather. In fact, we have found the North Sea to be the place for storms in all our 15 ocean cruises around the World.

Thanks Serial Tequila! Packing as though we're going to North Wales sounds about right then - expect any and every type of weather!

When we were on The Eclipse in June we asked if they would be showing The Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the answer was no. Enjoy your cruise.

We have sailed Northsea various times, May, August, November etc., and although Nothsea can be stormy, we never had any problems. Very smooth each time. So you never know.

Ah, yes ... I remember one particularly rough sailing on the NCL Star in September 2014 (which of course, you were also on, 4774Papa.) Our entire itinerary was changed and we dealt with some challenging seas. Completely missed Alesund, no Faroe Islands, what a mess!

Hope your sailings have been smooth since then!
