Lindblad's First New Cruise Ship Damaged During Launch

It is sad when any ship suffers damage - for any reason. However, I have to question any cruise line having their ship built on Whitby Island (assume it is the same Whitby Island that we have in Washington state). Why would anyone build a ship there? We live in Washington state and know that they can't even build a bridge or tunnel without massive problems. Just being honest!

I used to spend some time on Whidbey Island decades ago, during grad school in Seattle.
