DaveOKC Posted August 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2017 We are considering the backstage tour of the Catalina Island?Avalon Casino. Sounds interesting, but the tour starts at 3:30 PM and our ship does not get to the area until 2 PM, we have to tender to the island and walk or ? to the casino. Is this doable by 3:30 PM? Also, how good (or bad) is this tour? Advice please.
CruiserBruce Posted August 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2017 It is an interesting piece of history. Are you doing this on your own? The walk is not too long. Direct...perhaps 20-25 minutes. But I would be a little worried about how fast you can tender ashore.
GradUT Posted August 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Based on our experience tendering at Catalina on the Carnival Imagination, I would say you'd probably have enough time to make a 3:30 tour at the Casino if your ship arrives at 2:00 pm. The tour gets excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. (And the building, even from just the exterior, is stunning!) https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g29121-d102875-Reviews-Catalina_Island_Casino-Avalon_Catalina_Island_California.html
