Dclnut Posted April 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2016 I have not been in over 5 years. Have there been any changes on the Fantasy? Procedures? Ship design? Extras? Secrets? Anything else you can think of?
Shmoo here Posted April 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2016 I have not been in over 5 years. Have there been any changes on the Fantasy? Procedures? Ship design? Extras? Secrets? Anything else you can think of? Well, the Fantasy hasn't had her dry dock yet. So, not really any changes. Well, except for the removal of the arcade (I think it's gone now). The Fantasy is doing Star Wars Day at Sea cruises now. Mostly in the spring.
Tonka's Skipper Posted April 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2016 I just got off the Fantasy 2 weeks ago, Eastern............except as changes Shmoo mentioned, she's the same incredible vessel!:D AKK
moki'smommy Posted April 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2016 Changes? She's the one they are copying onto all the other ships. They've added Satellite Falls, etc. to make the Dream match the Fantasy. They destroyed the beautiful atrium on the Magic to make it match the Fantasy. tommymac5 Posted April 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2016 Dclnut she just turned 4 years old. You wouldn't believe how different she is now than 5 years ago.:p
Dclnut Posted April 27, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted April 27, 2016 I guess i made a typo, or i cant do math. Last time i went was June 2012. I guess I'm asking because i have seen changes to other ships kids clubs to add star wars and i was wondering if they did that or anything similar. And if any procedures have changed like check in or special nights/dinning etc.
moki'smommy Posted April 27, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2016 Well, Fantasy has Star Wars day on some sailings. And the holiday sailings have expanded a bit. Magic has Marvel Academy, Dream has Star Wars in the programming...but both of these ships have dry docked recently.
lorddunlow Posted April 27, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2016 They have the on-demand TV programming in the rooms. I'm not sure if that had always been on the Fantasy or not. Basically every Disney TV show or movie on-demand.

Basically every Disney TV show or movie on-demand. That has been on the Fantasy from day 1. Not new. The remarkable thing is that it was not added to the Magic at the big dry dock. Just a guess on my part, but I'd think they'd have to rewire (recable?) the ship and they just didn't have the time/money to do it. Same reason why the virtual portholes weren't added. Same reason why the virtual portholes weren't added. My understanding is that the wiring for the virtual portholes would have been a lot more involved than adding "on demand" TV. But I'm certainly not an expert in that field.

Ex techie Posted April 28, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 28, 2016 They had plenty of time while refitting the Staterooms. They obviously chose to not include the on demand movies and virtual portholes due to not allocating or wanting to spend the money ex techie
OfficerKrupke Posted April 28, 2016 #14 Share Posted April 28, 2016 I just wish they would add the sun shades on the Concierge sun deck of the Fantasy that they did on the Dream during dry dock. That place feels like the surface of the sun when in the Caribbean. I rarely see people in there because it's so darned hot.

hulksmash Posted April 29, 2016 #16 Share Posted April 29, 2016 So the arcade is gone?
Ex techie Posted April 29, 2016 #17 Share Posted April 29, 2016 So the arcade is gone? I've only heard of it being removed on the Magic and Dream? Not seen anything about the Wonder or Fantasy and think Shmoo is wrong there as it would be dead no revenue space? ex techie
OfficerKrupke Posted April 29, 2016 #18 Share Posted April 29, 2016 They probably will, when it comes time for her dry dock. I'm sure they will. It's just a matter of when she actually goes in for dry dock. So far, it only appears the Wonder is going in for a big dry dock this year, so we'll be sitting in the sun boiling in Mexico if we decide to use the sweat box that is the Concierge sun deck.
