On a BTB cruise how does the wine and soda take on board work?

We have always taken on the two bottles per adult but what gives on a btb?

we have never taken soda on board but with regards to the Wine we are quite frequent b2b'rs and if you show your paperwork for the two cruises they usually allow you to carry it on

we had an incident on the Carnival Glory where our wine was taken and put in the cargo hold

we were later told by Carnival the port security should not have done that and they searched in the cargo for the wine and gave it back to us

but that was once

Ah ok thanks

You just have to show both boarding passes.

We've done several B2Bs and always have both boarding passes. Only once have we been waved on through.

Each other time we had to ask the Security people to call a Carnival Supervisor. They did and we were then waved through.

On the Triumph B2B that got back today, security took the 3rd and 4th bottles from the B2Bers and said they would get them back when they arrived back in Galveston. No amount of discussion would change that. Even a blog post by John Heald, saying it was allowed, that was printed out and shown to them was disregarded. Supervisors were requested and we were told that this was the dictates of security on the ship.

So, it certainly isn't guaranteed...
