Carnival Victory Questions

My wife and her girlfriend will be sailing on the Victory out of Port Canaveral on April 14, 2016. I have a few questions I was hoping to get answered.

1. Does anyone know when the Victory will be moving to Port Canaveral?

2. When was the last dry dock and what was done, or will that been done before it moves to PC?

3. They have a 4J cabin #9302, has anyone ever been in one of these cabins?

Thanks

I don't know about the cabin or when she will be moved, but her drydock was done this past spring. Only thing added was a alchlemy bar and another bar.

The latest reviews I have read the people were really happy with their cruise and say the whole staff is exceptional.

I cruised Victory in January 2014, and had an amazing experience.

My room steward was very, very helpful. My fiancee took note that he remembered both of our names. I thought this was really neat as he has a lot of people to look after. Just a nice personal touch :)

The dining staff was excellent as well. Even though it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles the other ships have, I really enjoyed the ship.

Thanks for the reply, has anyone been in cabin #9302

I think the reason you are not getting a response to this question is that the room does not exist. I suspect you mean 9202 or 9203. Front facing to a public access observation deck. We sailed last week on the five-day route and had the JS next to 9203. Saw the room and it looks a little bigger than a standard room (squarer). Bed and sofa with a side chair. The advantage to 03 over 02 is that the entry to the outside deck is next to 02 on the port side. We had very calms seas all week so the normal complaints of pitching movement didn't really come up with anyone in a forward room on this cruise.

Have a great trip. Any room on open water beats any room on land!

Hi,

Does anyone know if the stateroom doors on the Carnival Victory are metal?

Obviously, not entirely metal. I suspect your question may be around if there is enough metal to allow use of magnets. To that end, a number of doors had magnets on them, and were strong enough to hold signs up.

Does anyone know about the casino on Victory?

We just got off the Victory today & spent lots of time in the casino. What questions do you have? I will say - the casino dealers are some of the nicest dealers I have ever had on a cruise!! I got my free drink card two days into our cruise. I also had chocolate covered strawberries sent to my room by the casino & to top it all off - they gave us a certificate for a free interior room, but it needs to be booked within 14 days.

Only downside to the casino is that they allow smoking everywhere - which is a huge bummer for us non-smokers. I actually went to bed overnight coughing up a storm as if I had been smoking myself. :-{

We had 9203 when the Victory sailed from San Juan. Loved the room. The layout makes the room seem larger. Some say they feel more motion in the 4J's. We have had several and have not noticed any more then when we were in an aft balcony.

The forward deck is above the bridge so it overhangs on the sides of the ship. A great place when sailing into or out of ports.

Here is a link to a few photos.

Thanks for the info. Any particular dealer you liked? What games did you play? How was the air in your cabin?

Hi Bambidrummer -

The air in our room was good, although when we first walked into our room it smelled very musty but after a day we got used to it.

The casino on the victory is large and offers a lot of table games as well as slots and electronic poker table. I played mostly ultimate Texas Holdem and 3 card poker. The dealers were all great (especially if you are a steady tipper). I caught on by the second day that most people were tipping $1 chips but I had been doing $5 chips which probably helped the friendly factor. My favorite dealer was Jelena, but they were all great in their own way. The male dealers had more of a dry sense of humor but were still cool.

I didn't ask to be rated, but the pit boss keeps very close tabs on who is spending/winning/losing. He sees all!! Nice guy though.

Have a great time!

I was so excited when Jelena came to the let it ride table. I told her about your post. The only thing was that there are two Jelenas on the ship dealing. Too funny. She was hoping to be able to read your post. I only had one good hand on the ship. So I did not spend a lot of time in the casino. No drink on me or strawberries:(
