We will be in Alta in September and would like to know your "don't miss it" list. Also, has anyone been to the North Cape from Alta on a private tour?

There is not a great deal in Alta save for its very impressive new Cathedral. Do go inside and see Jacob's ladder ascending. We were lucky enough to be there on a Sunday and able to be present at the family service. Although we did known the Norwegian words we knew the tunes!

The little town is surrounded by woodland paths.

We went on by ship to the North Cape so don't know about tours from Alta
