Why do you love Celebrity?

The more I read on Cruise Critic and other discussion boards the more I feel it is about finding something that 'fits you like a glove...'

We love the relaxed atmosphere on Celebrity, it is quiet but not too quiet, has activities but you don't feel obliged to join in them, people are respectful of each other...we do (occasionally) use other lines but we have found our 'fit' in Celebrity.

Best recommendations to a first time cruiser...

Try out the speciality restaurants.

Spend time just sitting and relaxing on your balcony or on deck.

Read your Celebrity Today and join in a few things...if you fancy them, if not don't...

Just relax and enjoy...let life sloooow doowwwnnn

We just returned home from Silhouette yesterday. It was our third Celebrity cruise in as many months (and we fly from Canada). We have tried other cruise lines, but we love Celebrity's crew, who are so friendly and helpful. The S-class ships are beautiful - bright and modern, with lots of little nooks and crannies to relax in. The food is great, particularly the speciality restaurants. There is music everywhere and you are sure to find something that appeals to you.

Other cruise lines we have tried were fine, but Celebrity's staff and crew just seem happier and more eager to be of assistance. You will love the captain on the Silhouette - he is hilarious!

I think what we like the most on the silhouette was that there was always a place which suited our mood at the time. For example, at some times in the day you might prefer the energy and activities at the main pool, or else you can rent an alcove, or head to the solarium pool for a more peaceful atmosphere. Sometimes you're in the mood to people watch, but sometimes you just want to have your headphones on and read your book in peace and quiet. Same at the bars. For me, the Sunset bar was the perfect place to sit and relax after coming back from port, before getting ready for dinner. We loved Blu, yet also enjoyed our dinners in the specialty restaurants. We usually took in the early show, and then headed for dinner at 8 o'clock. The timing just seem to work out well for us. After dinner, the martini bar is a fun place to hang out or if you prefer some dancing, you could head up to the sky lounge. Sometimes we just felt like chatting, so again, back up to the Sunset bar or if too windy or chilly, there's also a more quiet lounge usually with some softer or jazz type music which you can Carry on a conversation sitting on the sofas. I totally agree about the service, it was fantastic. We enjoyed our crew so much with celebrity, we have two more planned.

I like X because I don't feel like i'm in the middle of someone's "Frat Party." People are having fun, but it is never ridiculous.

I also have a food allergy, and have found that X goes the extra mile to take care of my needs. I never have to worry.

Have a great time. Relax and enjoy. =)

Upon returning to the ship at ports, celebrity offers various types of fruit-infused water as a quick refreshment, as well as cool/iced towels (in case you were out and about in a hot port and just need a nice refreshing cool down!).

I'm also an advocate of the cheese danishes at breakfast at Al Bacio on deck 5... :). They are A M A Z I N G.

In case the OP didn't know, the pastries/cakes/pies etc in the case at Cafe al Bacio are free. The coffees/teas/drinks are for a fee but the treats are free. You can get one to go or eat there. Sometimes the MDR's dessert choices don't look appealing so we go get something from CAB instead.

The incredible staff who work their hearts out, day after day, always pleasant. Also the food is exceptional. Love the décor, too. Live music playing in the lounges and around the ship. Have done a dozen with Celebrity since 2002.

On cold days, the towels awaiting you on your return to the ship are HOT and there is hot broth or hot chocolate offered to warm you up!

The pastries at Cafe al Bacio are amazing and I typcially pick up one (or two) to bring to the Oceanview at breakfast, since the pastries there are meh.

I agree with all the comments above. However, what drew us to Celebrity from the beginning was the wide variety of itineraries, that are all over the World. Also, we don't like the huge mega ship and Celebrity's ships are just the right size.

I also agree with the above posts. Celebrity is a step above the other cruise lines. It's a little more upscale, yet not stuffy or snobby. I've sailed Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, and will keep returning to Celebrity as often as possible. Only 236 Days until my next Silly sailing!

PREMIUM service, comparable with 5-stars hotels, but a fraction of the nightly rate. Food, the best I've tried, no need for specialty restaurants, the MDR and buffet are good enough. Beverage packages are among the best in the industry. Cleanliness and safety are top priorities.

The first and the most I love ambiance.

Also decor, food, service, entertainment.

Just about everything.

One huge minus for u on our last cruise on Silhuette was an absence of shuffleboard.

Still #1 a or b line for us aside from Princess.

As mentioned, the #1 reson we switched over was the non-smoking policy! It's wonderful to play in the casino or walk around inside and not be covered in smoke.

Once we tried X, all of the other added amenities made us realize it was the perfect line for us.

Celebrity, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

- welcome aboard champagne

- very good food in MDR, buffet, Aqua Spa Cafe and Cafe al Bacio for no extra charge (we almost never bother with specialty restaurants)

- hand scooped ice cream in buffet very good no extra charge

-one morning announcement only

-very visible and welcoming officers

-sommeliers in the dining rooms, very good wine selection

- Martini Bar, and you don't have to drink Martinis to enjoy the bartender show

-al fresco dining at the Sunset bar at the back of the Oceanview Cafe

-afternoon tea, scones, sandwiches etc in the afternoon at the Oceanview Cafe

-sophisticated atmosphere

-live music to accompany the shows

-fellow passengers! Do sign up for your roll call here on Cruise Critic to connect with your fellow passengers for sail aways and other activities

I agree with all the previous posts, but can't believe no one mentioned that Celebrity doesn't allow smoking indoors anywhere on the ship. That's a biggie for us.

We are also BIG fans of the no smoking indoors policy.
